It happened again.

I know I've mentioned it before but I really am a sucker for almost immortal, tortured souls in long coats...Angel, Spike, the Doctor, Jack, Larten Crepsley...

and Balthazar Blake.

Photobucket

I love Dave since he's Jay Baruchel, but there's something about Balthazar that's all cute and vulnerable and tormented in out of date clothing...dammit, Nicholas Cage is starting to get me to like him.

Oh, you should see it again! It was even better the second time! I even asked the Disney store person when the4 dvd was coming out, hehe.

That's really cool about James Marsters. Did you see him on Torchwood?

I've only been to one convention and that was to meet Kevin Smith.

I've been trying to find a decent bootleg online somewhere to download, 'cause it's $10 a movie ticket... and I'm a poor college student... ^_^;;

I definitely want the DVD when it's out. I hope they make a special edition with lots of extras! I really want to buy the artbook with all the concept drawings and stuff for the movie.

I never saw Torchwood, it's on HBO right? We don't really get those channels because no one in my house watches TV on a daily basis, so it's a waste of money for us. Which sucks now because I kind of want to start watching True Blood and Mad Men.. hehe...

I wasn't sure who Kevin Smith was, so I looked him up on IMDB. Silent Bob, right? I never saw those movies, even though my boyfriend is bugging me to.

Okay, I'm not sure where you live, but I'm going to suggest the same thing I did with my friend when she said the same thing. Many of the theatre chains, like Muvico and AMC, have special cheap prices on Saturday mornings before 11 am or noon depending on the chain. Down here what I mean by cheap is five dollars. Other chains have a different day but it's something to look into...ten is a little much, it's why we never do evening movies anymore. It's usually matinee, Saturday morning or we saved up enough points on the card for a free one. Most chains offer student pricing but sometimes that can be sort of pricey, too.

There are books</>???
I usually depend on Disney to tell me what's available. Because we save in other areas and had some inheritance given to us, we were able to afford Disney passes this year so I usually assume the parks would have everything...they have Prince of Persia books there. grr

Ugh, Amazon is wanting me to spend money. All my favorites things, TSA, Wheezy, Lotso...

Yay!!!! My library had the Making of...book for Prince of Persia so I checked and they have all THREE TSA books! Yay!

*must not complain about library selection for at least six months now*

No, Torchwood is on BBC America until next summer when it's on Starz...oh, Starz, bliss. It gets ALL the Disney films which is a big part of why I pay for it each month. The first time we saw TSA, I wanted my Starz to magically have it immediately, lol. However, I know in 9-12 months, they'll be showing it almost every day and I'll be so happy because I'll have the dvd but it's not the same as just turning on the tv and there it is with no effort on my part.

I don't have HBO unless it's a free weekend. It just doesn't have enough movies or good programming to justify the expense. Because if you're able to find movie bootlegs, it's just as easy to find Torchwood or the series on HBO or anywhere.

True Blood and Mad Men are okay, but I haven't fallen madly in love with them. They have their boring spots although it's fun to see "Connor" in Mad Men. Actually, depending on your provider, you should get BBCA and AMC with your basic package. AMC has Mad Men, not HBO. Hehe, that's why I picked DirectTv, BBCA is a basic channel as it should be whereas Dish charges extra for it.

He played Silent Bob but he also wrote and directed all of the films. He's very smart, sweet at times and funny, of course. He signed my issue of The Star Wars Insider where he was on the cover. I think he was the first live person not involved with the Star Wars films to be on the cover.

In summer 2001, I had a seizure and a sort of crisis of faith...not with God himself, but my cinematic God, Steven Spielberg. I hated A.I. and I hated Jurassic Park and it left me a little shattered, like now what? It's was Kevin Smith's films that picked up the pieces with the right mixture of maturity and silliness. I started college the next month and some of my first friends were made through a shared love of Kevin Smith. They even helped to make my peace with Spielberg so I like him again, too.

Haha! I LOVE your icon. I went through a Norrington/Jack Davenport obsession phase when the Pirates movies first came out.

Yeah.. I live in NY, specifically Long Island, so even our matinee shows are still expensive - $8. It's generally the same all over the island and more expensive if you go into the city. Sometimes watching movies in the city are worth it; you get to see them on the bigger screens!

The theaters in my area don't open until 3PM or 4PM, even in the summer, because there are high schools nearby and they have summer school. They used to have a problem with kids cutting class to see movies, so they kinda started enforcing that. *sighs* Good ol' Long Island. XD

There are books???

Well, I found the junior novelization of the movie in an airport bookstore a few weeks before the movie came out. It's pretty good! There's a lot of extra lines and stuff that weren't in the movie and they generally explain everything about the world a little more. I bought the soundtrack through iTunes and later realized that it was cheaper on Amazon..

Yay!!!! My library had the Making of...book for Prince of Persia so I checked and they have all THREE TSA books! Yay!

Wait? There's THREE TSA books?! Must find out what they are now... XD

Ah, okay. I figured it was one of those channels. My family has Verizon, so movies on STARZ and all of those channels are available to watch for like $2 for 24-hours and $4 for two days. Sometimes we get free movies, but that's pretty much why we don't pay for the entire package. I do get BBCA and AMC, thank God. Dish took away IFC when we had it a few years ago. I love Verizon, hehe. :)

I never really knew much about Kevin Smith, but that's awesome. I know most of his films are like cult classics, but I never got the chance to watch them. I usually like Steven Spielberg's movies, but I have to say... Tim Burton has been my favorite director ever since I was three or four years old.

I probably would never have been interested in TSA if it weren't for my weird obsession with Monica Bellucci too. I think she's absolutely gorgeous and she's sort of like a muse for my drawings. ^_^ I never really saw Nicolas Cage in anything other than Knowing and Con Air, and even those movies were pretty good!

Yay, I still love Jack Davenport. I had a friend try to tell me today that he and Nicholas Cage are similar...

So, they don't even have early showings on Saturday mornings?

Now, I can't WAIT to read the novelization! I remember when I read the first Pirates film novelization and it had them swimming through shark infested water.

So, there IS a soundtrack?? Because all I found were two singles so another friend and I were trying to make a soundtrack. Link please?

Here's the third book, it sounds interesting.

Kevin Smith does a lot of pop culture references, including Spielberg. I recommend Dogma unless you're easily offended by not taking religion seriously.

I like some of Tim Burton, it's sort of hit and miss at times with me. Vincent, Frankenweenie, PeeWee's Big Adventure, Beetle Juice, Sleepy Hollow and Big Fish good...actually Big Fish is my favorite Burton film.
I'm not so fond of Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Planet of the Apes and Mars Attacks!

Bellucci is very beautiful. I'm not too familiar with her. I don't remember her in Brothers Grimm and I try to forget a lot of the Matrix. I like magic and then, I heard Jay Baruchel was going to be a sorcerer apprentice so I was excited until I found out the sorcerer was Nicholas Cage, lol. However, my mom kept talking it up that she thought it was going to be good...she's usually right, she also got me hooked on Buffy and House...and then, Disney was showing a different trailer that looked very exciting. Later that same afternoon, we went to the car action show and it had a special feature on the movie as well and the stunts...the car chase looked like one of the most exciting car chases ever so between all those things I was basically sold. I'm so glad I wasn't disappointed, lol.
