The interview went quite well. Here's hoping!

Yes, TKaM is my favorite book of all time. I also have a hard cover of Little Women. They're classics. Haven't read HP or LotR, but to be fair, fantasy and magic is not my thing. I have, of course, seen all the movies of both and enjoyed them. Maybe one day I will have time to read them.

Outsourced makes me laugh. A lot. It's just the story of American culture, really. Everything being sent to India. But yes, Americans come off far worse in the show and that's what amuses me most.

Yeah, my mom doesn't go for fantasy and magic stuff or she didn't until I influenced her, lol. She used to not like Star Wars...although Liam Neeson might have helped a lot with that.

But it still has to be something really good to hold her attention for the weird stuff and she'd actually read all five of LOTR way before I did. She also read the first Harry Potter before I did. She felt LOTR was written quite well and HP was okay but she figured I'd like it more.

I became obsessed.

Almost two years pass, it's right after 9/11, the country's in a weird mood and to make things worse, I'm at college so she has an empty house to herself for the first time since...ever. She re-reads the first book and the second and all of them that were published at that point. It struck a chord with her especially the later books about persevering and not letting the bad things stop you. After the seventh one came out, she read them all again, plus, Tales of Beedle the Bard.
