The Sensorites

So, I finally finished "The Sensorites" episodes! I might only be on the first Doctor but I'm going to finish all of them, really.

Ian: Gee, I think there's something huge and dangerous ahead.

Doctor: Luckily, I have this map, I'll just roll it up and it should protect us against anything. You can just thwack it death.

Really? They honestly thought that was a good weapon and then seemed so surprised when it didn't work too well...

*facepalm*

However, I loved when Susan was talking to one of the aliens about home. She said it had been ages and the alien said she had a wanderlust...
Hmm, doesn't that sound just like...her grandfather?
Whenever people theorize about her, it's usually that he was forced to become her guardian or it's some sort of rite of passage. I don't think anyone's ever voiced the idea that she just took after her grandfather that much that she wanted to see the stars...and probably insisted that he take her. He was probably reluctant but recognized himself in her like he would with Jenny later.

Gosh, I wish there was fic with the Doctor and Susan.

Ian: I don't think you even know what you're doing.

Doctor: How dare you speak to me like that! Of course, I know everything! I'm going to kick you off at the next place because I'm sure it will be a paradise or something livable, no questions.

Next Episode:
"A Land of Fear"

Oh One, I have major love for him. I loved the Sensorites, scared the crud out of me when I first watched it.

But yeah, the "weapon" One used was utterly un-Doctor-like. But that's the thing about Old!Who I think, it's hilarious because it's not meant to be scary, or else the children wouldn't watch it and it wouldn't have become so popular like it is today?

Susan is amazing; easily my favorite character in season 1. She's so wistful and charismatic and just awesome how she just goes out there, even when there's danger and is all "no problem". I completely agree with you; I think she just hopped on the TARDIS with him, she didn't want to be apart from him and he needed her, even if he didn't say so out loud. The love you can feel between them is palpable.

Yeah, there needs to be fic of the Doctor and Susan, so much potential!

When I first started watching The Sensorites, we still thought the Silence was the name of the species and I honestly wondered if they were a different form of Sensorite or perhaps from a neighboring planet because they share a lot of characteristics, like the lack of mouth, the headshape, and the use of telepathy. Now, the Sensorites have developed an aversion to the dark because of their poor eyesight in it but it's easily probable that a sub-species or those from a close planet would evolve to use the poor eyesight to an advantage by using the dark as a sanctuary or place of rest.

Or they could secretly be a more evolved form of Krillitane since sleeping on the ceiling is how we last saw them in School Reunion.
