I guess we have to expect an industry to try to protect its money streams, even tax breaks. And it just happens that this industry is big enough to raise a stink during an election year, so they're going to. It's a shame they have to lie to do it.

There are right-wingers I debate with on FB now and then, and one of them scoffed when I suggested that one political persuasion in this country distorts the truth (or outright lies) more than the other. I had no way to quantify it, so I let it go. Then PolitiFact put out some comparison pages, like this and this. Regarding Half True as pretty much par for the political course, I came up with these figures:

RNC: 22% True or Mostly True, 44% Mostly False or worse
DNC: 40% True or Mostly True, 29% Mostly False or worse

Barack Obama: 46% True or Mostly True, 29% Mostly False or worse, (includes 1% Pants On Fire)
Mitt Romney: 34% True or Mostly True, 40% Mostly False or worse (includes 11% Pants On Fire)

So yeah, based on these samples, one side really DOES lie more than the other.
