My dad's cousin had her first child when she was 42.
I've also had friends whose parents were in their early 50s when they adopted them.

( Though - the cut-off should prob. be mid-60s cause you don't wanna die while your kid is still young & needs you. )

Wait, WHAT? Do I even want to know? Sorry, but those kind of age gaps push things into soap opera territory. And I say this as someone whose youngest sibling is eight years younger than me. Okay, my oldest uncle is 21 years older than my youngest aunt, but there are 11 siblings in between them.

Oh wow. I had to look up the last baby, I didn't realize that the actor who played Selvig was Alexander Skarsgård's dad. Small world.

Though I will say, I've always found it a little weird when parents marry spouses, who happen to be around the same age as their grown children.

It's like that one scene in "You've Got Mail" where Tom Hanks is introducing Meg Ryan to his aunt and his little brother (both who are under the age of 10).

My eldest sister is 22 years older than me, and I have a nephew who is older than I am and who has 2 children, so I'm a great-aunt at 31.

Didn't know that Stellan had had another kid though.

Sometimes people just have children. I have come to terms with the fact that some people have large age ranges, came from me having a brother 20 years older than me I think.
