Deal Breakers

We, as a society, really need to stop pressuring people to have significant others at all costs. Yes, relationships take work and we should deal with the other's differences with a mature outlook if the relationship is to survive BUT there are certain flaws that SHOULD be deal-breakers. They should NOT be tolerated and we should be supporting anyone walking away from this situation.

Deal-breakers that we should all agree on:

*They are a current gang member.
*They deal drugs.
*They regularly use drugs harder than marijuana.
*The majority of their free time is spent drinking and/or doing drugs.
*They show verbal and/or physical abuse to animals and children.
*They demand to know your whereabouts 24/7.
*They find a way to make you pay for everything.
*They constantly want you to do things you're not comfortable with.
*They refuse to practice safe sex.
*They have three or more children, all with different baby mamas/daddies.
*They commit crimes that could lead to JAIL for YOU!

On the abuse thing: Usually they don't start showing that until the person is dependent upon them in some way. It makes it harder to leave then.

But yeah, all of these are deal breakers for me. I try to convince my friends to part from people who do these things to them. The paying one is particularly an issue I have to tackle with my guy friends because they don't see when they are being used.
