Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Charlotte the spinster is 27. Charlotte the spinster who had so little prospects that she accepted Mr Collins is 27!!!
I'm not a spinster, dammit. I get enough of that from the town I live in without my literature backing them up. I had forgotten that part.
Ughh!!! The Zombieness was far more annoying though especially...
Spoilers within!
nephthysmoon tried to warn me. She said she couldn't read either of the books because she was an Austen purist, but I felt I was not. I enjoy a good joke now and then or a spirited discussion of faults.
However...they turned Charlotte into a zombie and had Mr Collins hang himself in shame afterwards!
WTF???
It's not like Mr Collins is my favorite character but he doesn't deserve death...especially when he's being played by Tom Hollander and I thought they made him pathetic enough by having Charlotte view him as a solution to her turning Zombie problem as though only those turning zombie would be bad off enough to marry Mr Collins.
Basically, by halfway through the book, I enjoyed the moments that were not changed in any way immensely and cringed at everything else especially Elizabeth dueling with Katana swords with Lady Catherine.
