Rango and Lotso

I was watching the trailer for Rango when I heard a voice and realized I know that voice! I hear it twenty million times a day!

Yes, Ned Beatty plays a character in Rango and not just any character, but an older animal who travels along in his wheelchair.

*facepalm*

I feel almost as if he's cheating on Lotso by being this other, similar character so soon. My mom was disappointed, too. She said it took away from some of Lotso's mystique.

Ugh, it was beginning to grow on me until that point.

Hear and see for yourself:

Oh wow, I had so much trouble recognizing Ned Beatty's voice without the southern accent. I wasn't sure about seeing this movie before, but now I think I will, just for Ned. ♥

Really, you and your mom don't like that he's voicing another character? I think it's pretty cool. He must have really enjoyed voice acting if he's doing it again so soon.

It's not that it's another character, I would be fine with that even if it was soon but it's that the new character seems so similar...older, in a wheelchair, an authority over the dominion but with questionable loyalties...

It seems too soon to play another character like that.

But Ned Beatty's an old man. What else would he play aside from an old man?

I think you're thinking about it too much. This character doesn't look like he's going to be a villain. And even if he does turn out to be similar, I'm personally just happy for Ned. Playing roles like this must be enjoyable for him.
