Ass Blurring
I was watching the MTV version of Skins from last week and Chris' ass? It wasn't blurred.
I was pissed but not in the way everyone else is. Why is Chris' ass on MTV unedited and Chris' ass on BBCA blurred?
I realize MTV is supposed to appeal to the lowest common denominator but shouldn't BBCA give us more credit than that? They blur ALL asses!!! Chris, Jack, Rhys, George, you name it and it infuriates me. It also annoys me when they bleep out fuck but fine, whatever...scaredy-cats. They used to air unedited BBC programming on PBS before the Janet Jackson debacle set us back to the Dark Ages.
However, the point still stands: If MTV is capable of showing unedited ass at 10 PM EST, why can't BBCA do the same at 1 AM EST? We come off like freaking prudes to the rest of the world and it's a select few, not the majority. We PAY for BBCA, dammit!
I remember before I had dvr, they would show This Life at 4 in the morning because it was "too racy" for earlier. Grr.

They need to decide who they want to emulate - The Family Channel or HBO. Cause right now, they just look like idiots.
Can you imagine if TW4 is shown on there? You'd miss the whole Jack in bed with another guy scene that's been so hyped. (Hell, I won't be watching regardless, but I'm sure the Interwebs will provide as always).

So is MTV, MTV is included with most basic cable packages so I don't see why BBCA can't at least meet the MTV or FX standards for not blurring and having sex as long as it's 10 PM EST.
I do subscribe to Starz though. We got them free for six months when we first subscribed to DirectTv. Then, we tried going without it but I missed it too much so I pay for the extra. I like how Starz gets all the Disney enterprise films, like Prince of Persia on Saturday. Starz also has LOTR which I own on dvd anyway but it's so much nicer to just turn on the tv and have it right there.

They blur out asses on BBCA? I think when they first started showing Skins at like 3 in the morning, they let nips slip. Hm. Now that you mention it, it is weird that they didn't blur it on MTV.
MTV Skins people have been claiming that the show isn't aimed at younger viewers since it airs at 10pm, but it's not like they can get away with saying "fuck," right? BUT around 1am, things on Comedy Central say it all the time! There have been repeats on MTV Skins at midnight or 1am, but I'm not sure if they've said it. I don't think so, though.
I'm wondering if it's that nobody'll watch a premiere that late or what, but it's really weird to hear them call each other "penisface" seriously. I thought the rule was you could call people dicks, but you couldn't call your penis a dick.
LMAO, sorry this is like the first thing I've ever replied to.

I've actually been annoyed with Comedy Central because they haven't been showing the unedited shows and films after 1 AM like they used to.
The rules for cable are supposed to be looser than the rules for network since you pay for cable but sometimes, the cable channels, like BBCA, are cowards.
Dick and penis are both acceptable now although I don't know if a network show would try it. Fuck is supposed to be fine after 10 PM but I've never heard it earlier than 1 AM except on accident or on a pay channel. However, PBS used to have fuck on their programs before the post-Janet Jackson super bowl crackdown.
