Alaskan Brewing Co.

This is totally awesome!

Yes, some businesses can do the right thing. Alaskan Brewing Company has an "aim to have a zero-net negative effect upon our environment by reclaiming and reusing at least as much waste and emissions as we produce."

This could just be pretty words on a website but they have actually bought and installed a special furnace in order to power their brewery by using the biowaste they produce!

This also eliminates shipping costs for disposing of the biowaste in other ways...other companies really need to look into this. Scientists are also developing ways of using human waste as biofuels.

Book Haul

We went to downtown Tampa on Monday and that tends to mean one main thing...

Buying books at the library!!!!!!

They have the most awesome books. It's like the equivalent of bi-annual book sale back home but they have it ALL THE TIME! It's a whole room of books for sale, like putting a five year old in a candy store.

I tried to be responsible. I only bought four books this time.

Violin by Anne Rice
The Irregulars: Roald Dahl and the British Spy Ring in Wartime Washington by Jennet Conant
Captain Freedom: A Superhero's Quest for Truth, Justice, and the Celebrity He So Richly Deserves by G. Xavier Robillard
The Problem with Murmur Lee: A Novel by Connie May Fowler

They also had almost ten years of Theatre Yearbooks from 1989-1999 but missing 1994-1995. While I loved seeing photos of early photos of Audra McDonald, Michael Emerson and Debra Messing, I had one person in particular that I was hoping they would have.

Every issue, except two, mentioned Clark Gregg in some capacity but NO PHOTOS!
Dammit, don't they realize that 20 years later we might care who these people are?

At least, he was in the People's Sexiest Man issue...
He wasn't in the 2013 Hollywood Vanity Fair issue either or Tom Hiddleston or any of the Avengers except Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey, Jr. and a caricature of Scarlett Johansson...although I did enjoy the photos of Ewan McGregor, Daniel Craig and Jeremy Irvine.

2013 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards

You and/or the children in your lives NEED to vote for this.

Okay, that's a lie but it would be really nice because I really, really want The Avengers to win.

"Chris Hemsworth is an actor from the land down under -- Australia! You know him best as the hammer-swinging Thor, who smashed out a major role for himself in The Avengers! Will he bash his way past all the slime to the winner’s podium? Time will tell!"

"Tom Hiddleston gave us the heebie-jeebies as Thor's villainous Loki! The English actor brought his A-game and kept us coming back for more when he played the same role in The Avengers. Will he be the villain who brings down the KCA competition? Let's see!"

I really, really, really want to see Tom win and get slimed. I will settle for one or the other but I'd prefer both.

Also, Peter Dinklage has been cast in an X-Men movie, YES!!!!

...and Rupert Grint is doing a sitcom pilot for CBS about a superhero!

*fingers crossed*
