Computers

I love my computer. It's only needed professional maintenance twice and I've only used half the memory on it. I only tend to have issues when I'm trying to see whole conversations on Facebook or when I try to keep more than a hundred tabs open on my browser when I shut it down at night.

The corporations have other ideas naturally. It appears that my computer is now a dinosaur because it just turned FIVE. At this point with my last computer, I've had to reinstall the OS along with everything else. This hasn't been the case with this one. Still, Best Buy refuses to let me renew my Geek Squad protection and Real Player said I couldn't have the newest version...because I still have Windows Vista.

Bastards

My goal is for my computer to at least make it to SEVEN like my last one but I really feel like it should be fine until NINE or TEN.

Then, I might get a tablet instead.

Life Jackets

"In 2012, U.S. Coast Guard statistics show 459 boaters drowned. More than 82 percent of them were not wearing life jackets.
Quan's study found the average rate of life-jacket use overall was only 31 percent and just 21 percent in motorboats."

Please wear flotation devices, most of these drownings were people who were thrown overboard or their boat capsized. It's too late at that point to put something on so you need to be wearing protection ALL THE TIME on the water!

There was a recent rescue with a whole family, including children, that would have definitely included fatalities but they were ALL wearing life jackets so everyone survived!

It should be a no brainer along with seat-belts. However, there is a movement to legislate their use just like seat-belts so that everyone under 18 would be REQUIRED to wear them.
