Queen Elizabeth the First

So, I just got done finishing Elizabeth: The Golden Age because of the free HBO Weekend. I've never seen it before despite Geoffrey Rush and Tom Hollander. I've also never seen the first one although I've seen bits and pieces. I can't seem to make it through the battle parts. Give me some sort of violent fantasy like Tarantino and I love it, but actual battles that real people fought? I get totally squeamish. I was forced to watch Saving Private Ryan though.

Anyway, this exchange caught my attention:

(they're talking about husbands)

Walsingham: I confine myself to the possible.

Queen Elizabeth: Well, that's where you and I differ, Walsingham, I find the impossible far more interesting.

Me: Impossible? You mean...like a TIME LORD?!

There's even a Time Lord in the first one (I always think maybe Nine managed somehow to get there before Ten) and I haven't managed to watch it either, but I've seen the second one several times (I also OT3 Elizabeth/Bess/Sir Walter to an unholy degree).

But yes, I did like that exchange a lot.
