Doctor Who: Nuclear Time by Oli Smith

Doctor Who: Nuclear Time by Oli Smith

This was...

not good. The level of suckitude was amazing...seriously, you can't bother to look up when Star Wars came out for the general population of the United States? Or movie ticket policies for 1977?

There was other stuff, but that put me on watch first and then it was all downhill. Plus, I hate when our soldiers get annihilated without even standing a chance. It's the one thing that really bothered me in the first Transformers film.

Also, I bought it for Rory on the cover and then he and Amy are BARELY in it!

Yes, the Doctor sounded in character, that's the only good thing I can say about it. Still, he's only 24, he has time to improve.

I struggled with Nuclear Time. I thought the concept was really really good, but the execution left a lot to be desired.

The thing that put me off on the book right from the start was the desert in Colorado. Really? Colorado has a desert? Where? How?

Yeah, because there is a Colorado Desert...but it's in California!

I also can't find any evidence that they've had nuclear testing there since it's includes stuff like Joshua Tree and Coachella. It just didn't seem like anyone fact-checked it all which is acceptable for fanfic but not published fanfic.

I also found it hard to follow at times.

After that, I read Glamour Chase by Gary Russell and loved it, especially how much revolved around Rory.
