Craig Ferguson Confirmed

Craig Ferguson has confirmed he's leaving The Late Late Show in December.

He stresses it's his decision.

I want to be happy for him but I'm also sad. For the last fifteen years, it's always been hosted by a Craig and Ferguson was exceptionally good at it.

I really hope that he has Peter Capaldi and Alex Kingston one last time.

I do still like my mom's suggestion for a replacement though...Fluffy. Everyone else says Amy Schumer; who sometimes I like and sometimes...not so much.

I like Craig Ferguson, though I didn't watch it all the time... I don't like Amy Schumer at all though. :P

Yeah, I'm hoping part of the reason he chose December was so he could have Peter Capaldi on as the new Doctor.

I can't really see him being able to resist that. :D

Besides, it would totally hilarious to see these two older Doctor Who fans totally geeking out because one of them actually got to be the Doctor!

I suspect it probably was, because like you said, there is no way he'd pass up an opportunity like that, even more so because he and Capaldi know each other and are good friends anyway.

It totally would :D! *Nods*

Actually, The Colbert Report is also ending in December and I suspect that Letterman's last show is also around that same time. Then, they have until January or even February to start the new shows with new hosts.

Awww..., darn :(! Good to know he's leaving of his own volition, though, rather than being pushed out due to some kind of bureaucratic BS. Hopefully he'll end up being another Conan O'Brien--- a talk show host who will become more successful doing his own show on a semi-independent channel after leaving the network station he worked for (I know the circumstances surrounding Conan being replaced as the new host of The Tonight Show were different and far less pleasant & amicable, but you get what I mean).

Unlike Conan and many of the other talk show hosts, Craig Ferguson had a varied career beforehand. He was a comic, a musician, a writer, an actor...a jack of all trades so...

Honestly, the way he talked I think it's more like Jack Harkness or Natasha Romanoff: "I've had a lot of lives and it's time to find another one."

I am excited about how it will bring up a lot of opportunity. He could even appear ON Doctor Who which would be awesome.

He really is a half-decent actor. I should recommend films in an upcoming post. Of course, when he was first hired all those years ago, I just thought of him as Drew Carey's boss and couldn't see how that would work at all, lol.
