Marvel Help

So, close friends/betas have noticed this before. I like to kill off characters and then bring them back to life...for maximum angst!

I know how to do this with Pirates of the Caribbean and Torchwood/Doctor Who and others, but I've never really thought about it with Marvel before?

How do I bring someone back to life in a Marvel compliant way?

I've also heard something about Hel? How does that work?

Hmmm, I'm not an expert but:
*They're not really dead, it was a clone/Skrull/robot/shapeshifter that died
*Jean Grey came back b/c of the Phoenix force
*Bucky was brought back as Winter Soldier (cold preservation and robotics or something)
*Same with Captain American: this one confuses me, some machine was used or something; actually, that makes twice, since he was also frozen in ice and believed dead until rediscovered
*Alternate dimension version of a person could show up

Hm, I think comicbook-universes have the most options available.

They could turn out to have a mutation like Wolverine and Sabertooth.
They could be Highlander-immortals if you want to go with crossovers.
Someone has some kind of serum that is able to bring the dead back.
They aren't really dead but just in some dead-like state?
Captain America's serum seems to be able to keep him from staying dead. Advanced healing maybe?
Then there's the question what the Extremis is able to do with Tony.
Tony could invent something.
Alien technology.
Magic.

I think you have a lot of options :-)

Ooh...magic...so I could force Loki to do it?

Reason? Why do you need a reason that makes sense? Most of the time the comic writers don't give even a half-assed *bad* reason to bring someone back much less a *good* one.
So anything you want to use short of 'it was all a dream' ala Dallas should be fine.

Because I tend to over-plan and over-think things?

but thanks

I think comic books (and therefore Marvel) are pretty flexible when it comes to people coming back from the dead.

*phew*

Now, there's a rumor that The Avengers will have a second post-credits scene for the US release and I'm so freaking anxious to see if that happens and if it's related to you know who...

ughh, the craziness like freaking POTC all over again...
