Rock of ages
It has its problems. It has a lot of problems.
However, the music gave me lots of warm, squishy feelings from hanging out in my brothers' room when I was a kid. If you also get warm squishy feelings from More than Words and Wanted Dead or Alive, then you'll like it, too.
Halfway through the film, I was already thinking how it was like Burlesque except Burlesque was done better.
This is also probably the only time I'll be rooting for Alec Baldwin and Russell brand to kiss. Actually, my mom hated all of the story except for their characters finally getting together. When I told her one member of the audience was loudly laughing, she was very disappointed.

The music is amazing. So many memories.
I haven't seen Burlesque yet but if it's at all like that I'm going to make time soon!
I was shocked when Alec and Russell's characters turned out to be a canon pairing, though I was pre-slashing them anyway - their dynamic is one I enjoy in my slash.
I was rooting for them to kiss after the I Love Rock & Roll mash-up actually.
There were people laughing at my screening too. Hmf. I mean Russell was indeed hilarious - but that was NOT the time to laugh.
I'm quite intrigued by Stacee Jax. It's the first time I've crushed on a Tom Cruise character since he was Lestat.
