It has its problems. It has a lot of problems.

However, the music gave me lots of warm, squishy feelings from hanging out in my brothers' room when I was a kid. If you also get warm squishy feelings from More than Words and Wanted Dead or Alive, then you'll like it, too.

Halfway through the film, I was already thinking how it was like Burlesque except Burlesque was done better.

This is also probably the only time I'll be rooting for Alec Baldwin and Russell brand to kiss. Actually, my mom hated all of the story except for their characters finally getting together. When I told her one member of the audience was loudly laughing, she was very disappointed.

"tsk tsk For shame"

There were several problems (I saw it too :))

The music is amazing. So many memories.

I haven't seen Burlesque yet but if it's at all like that I'm going to make time soon!

I was shocked when Alec and Russell's characters turned out to be a canon pairing, though I was pre-slashing them anyway - their dynamic is one I enjoy in my slash.

I was rooting for them to kiss after the I Love Rock & Roll mash-up actually.

There were people laughing at my screening too. Hmf. I mean Russell was indeed hilarious - but that was NOT the time to laugh.

I'm quite intrigued by Stacee Jax. It's the first time I've crushed on a Tom Cruise character since he was Lestat.

Burlesque is a musical about a young woman arriving in LA to make it big but she ends up working at a Burlesque except it's deeply in debt...
It's all original music and has Cher, Stanley Tucci and Kristen Bell...as a Brunette which I think is better on her, actually.

Did you ever watch Friends? There was this episode where Chandler and Joey watch so much porn that the real world becomes confusing. This happened to me in the summer of 2008 or 2009, I read so much Torchwood slash online that I began just expecting all males in tv or films to kiss each other and then it was confusing that they weren't...

So, when there seemed to e chemistry, I just thought I had my slash goggles on...

I never crushed on Tom Cruise as Lestat. I did crush on Stuart Townsend as Lestat. I never crushed on Tom Cruise until The Last Samurai. He was a fine male specimen and all but I didn't really crush him here. However, I did crush heavily on Peter Vincent which is a similar role with the tight pants and shagging and drinking but he also had the whole vampire hunter thing working for him...

I have the DVD of Burlesque actually! :) I'm not sure it's all original, though? I watched Alan Cumming singing That's Life on the extras, though I believe that was cut, perhaps the rest of the music was original.

I actually watch Friends re-runs every weeknight. So yes, I saw that episode recently and that was so funny. I know the feeling, too, I had a slash time like that!

But yes, I was sure it was just my slash goggles here.

I realised I never crushed on him post-crazy, really. Until now.

Tight pants, shagging and drinking are apparently appealing to me ;)

I found Burlesque awful, so I really hope Rock of Ages is better than that. That said, I'm quite familiar with the stage musical so maybe I can have fun comparing them!

Aww, mom and I loved Burlesque. Ah, I've never seen the stage musical.

I just it today and really enjoyed it. Between Rock of Ages and Ghost Protocol my crush on Tom Cruise is back. He was amazing as Stacee Jaxx.

I love 80s rock. It gives me warm squishy feelings because I grew up with it a lot of the time. That's what makes me want to see Rock of Ages.

I wasn't sure exactly which time period they would be using so from the very first song that I could remember from my childhood, it was just magic in that sense. I remember my oldest brother had all his tapes lined up against the wall next to his bed; everything from Poison to Cinderella to White Snake to...everything.
