First impressions

The amazing spider-man

What I really want to say, I can't because I'm on my iPod and don't know how to spoiler cut.

However...

This film is a huge angst sandwich with a heaping filling of angst on the side.

The only time I really laughed was Stan lee's cameo.

I also had MAJOR Pheels and Phlashbacks.
MAJOR to the point where I was pissed off.

Now, I wasn't particularly excited other than two cast members and Marvel...
My mom has been eagerly anticipating. We are now watching The Unusuals to get "rid of bad vibes".

Or as she put it earlier, "we have seen six movies in six days and this was my least favorite by a LONG SHOT!"

She was so disappointed.

She implores you to see Avengers again instead.

Oh no. I was looking forward to seeing Rhys Ifans.

Sorry you didn't enjoy it! I found it far superior to those godawful Macguire films! (I'm not a fan of his though so maybe I'm a little bias)

I loved both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in their roles. I think Martin Sheen and Sally Field were horribly miscast but mainly it comes down to the script...which I have since found out was written by Steve Kloves...explains SO MUCH!

Oh, good. Now I don't feel so bad that no one wants to go see it with me.

And it looked so promising too. I mean Toby Maguire always looks and feel like Spider-man to me, but I had hoped that the new movie would do the series justice.

I guess some people did like it?

Huh. I mostly enjoyed the movie actually.
But my standards were so low considering I found the McGuire movies to be so terrible.
And I expected the angst once I found out Capt. Stacey was a character in the movie.

I would totally watch sequels if it had that cast and more sassy Peter.

(I actually don't remember Stan Lee's cameo though. When was that?)

I didn't think I would like this movie because I couldn't understand why they were restarting the series, but I adored it. I haven't read the comics so I don't have a lot to base my opinion on, but I thought it was great.
