Chapter Sixteen: Twenty-four Weeks Along Continues

"Thank you," Jack whispered and settled against him. His cock rubbed against Ianto's body and he looked to see that it had red blood staining it. He knew he should have been expecting it, but it still jarred him because it was his blood. It had been the virginity he had been so sure he'd never lose and now it was gone. The remains were soaking into the sheets, Jack's cock and whatever remained down there.

"What is it?" Jack asked with concern, "Is it the baby?"

"No, she's asleep, I just..I don't know. It's stupid," Ianto rambled and shook his head.

"It's you so I know it's not stupid," he spoke and rubbed a thumb over his cheek.

"It was my first time, I guess," Ianto said and put an arm around Jack's chest.

"It was," Jack agreed without any ribbing, "Do you regret it?"

He had been so focused on losing it that he hadn't considered that. Did he regret it? Had the trade-off been worth it?

Ianto wasn't sure what he thought. In any normal person, that act would have led to the creation of their baby and around nine months after that; it would use that as an escape route. He couldn't picture that at all. Jack's cock was pretty big, but it couldn't be compared to a baby. Ianto still hadn't said a word when Jack gave him a little smile, saying, "You did it all backwards, didn't you? Pregnant before you lost your virginity."

His thoughts must have been obvious from his face. However, it was too serious so he joked, "Mind reader, are you?"

He expected Jack to have a retort at the ready or have something to say. When he just shrugged, Ianto realized something else.

"Oh, you are," he said and was surprised that he didn't have the urge to tell him something like, Then, why didn't you use the condom like I wanted? He wasn't upset about it anymore. Jack's cock-up meant that they were going to have a daughter now so it was worth it. He moved his hands so they could rest on his belly.

"I caught your slip earlier. You know we're having a girl," Jack spoke and lay his hands on top of his own.

"It was my little secret," he said.

"We can still make Rhi wait," Jack suggested as he lay back against the pillows.

"That could work," Ianto agreed and yawned. He was too tired to answer the previous question. It could wait.

Ianto was running. He wasn't sure why, but he felt like something was chasing them.

Them?

"Come on, taddy! They'll catch us!" yelled a little girl running ahead of him in a fancy white dress. She had dark hair the same shade as his own locks. He looked down and saw that he fit into his old clothes again. Out of nowhere, a boy appeared. He was a little shorter than the girl with brown hair like Jack. As soon as he appeared, he disappeared. Ianto tried to looked around, but he was unable to move. The girl was nowhere to be seen. His mobile started ringing and he was able to reach into his coat: the paralysis gone. He pressed the button and opened his mouth, but no sound came out. Instead, there was a single electronic word over and over and over.

"Exterminate!"

"Run!" Jack cried from behind him. He was pregnant so for a moment, Ianto just stared. Then, Jack took him by the hand and they were running together.

"We can't let them catch us. They'll ruin everything!" Jack shouted and they made their way to a playground where they had to climb up netting. Then, they went down a long slide with no hesitation. Jack just put his hands on his belly as they flew along. However, they landed in quicksand. They had to get out before whatever was chasing them caught up. His mobile went off again. It was the tones that signaled a text message. He was already reaching for it again he realized that it wasn't that one. It was doing that in real life. He had to wake up.

Ianto was still trying to wake up when the earth jolted underneath him.

"Jack, Jack, there's an earthquake!" he cried and looked around for him. The bedroom was empty except for the stuff flown everywhere. Where was he? He picked up his mobile and saw that he had a missed call as well as a text. There was no new voice message so he read Gwen's message.

"Don't come in. Earthquakes were us. I'll explain tomorrow," Ianto read off the screen and the earth shook again. Now, there was a large wardrobe on its side and blocking his exit. Despite being told not to do such a thing by Martha, he tried to move it. The heavy piece of furniture wouldn't budge.

"Tosh! I'll protect you!" Andy screamed from the other side and Ianto started beating on the wall.

"I'm in here and I'm stuck!" he yelled, "Help! Help!"
He knew he should relax because he could already feel his pulse racing and if he was calmer, he could come up with a plan. Also, it would just make things that much worse if he went into premature labor. Then, John called out, "Yan? Yan, are you in there?"

If only it was anyone but John. Ianto was tempted not to respond. However, he should take any help that he could get.

"Yes, his wardrobe fell in front of the door and I can't move it!" Ianto yelled and felt a little better now that he had provided the details of his predicament.

"I'll be back in a tick, just wait!" John called and Ianto wondered what else he was supposed to do. He didn't have much choice in the matter. However, it was a rather short period of time before he heard John saying, "Stand back!"

As cracks started appearing in the door and it sounded a lot like John was using an ax, Ianto realised he was standing without a stitch of clothing on. He dressed as quick as he could while the door was hacked to pieces. John stuck his head through with the ax.

"I almost have you out," he said and pushed at the piece of furniture. It moved several centimeters.

"Mickey, come help!" John called out and Mickey appeared. They both heaved at the wardrobe and moved it over a quarter of a metre.

"Will that do?" Mickey asked and nodded towards the hole that used to contain a door. It would have if he hadn't been pregnant. The space still didn't accommodate his bump.

"You're naked," Ianto realized aloud of John.

"Beggars can't be choosers. How's that pussy feeling now that your cherry's popped?" he asked with a smirk. Mickey kicked at the wardrobe and his foot cracked it.

"Give me that ax," Mickey said and broke the back, "now it'll be lighter."

"And that's why you should always sleep with an ax by the bed," John explained with a firm hand on the handle and they moved it the rest of the way into the room so Ianto could come out. They hurried outside to where the others were already waiting. John still didn't bother to put on any clothes.

"That was horrible! That was so horrible," a strange naked woman complained and Mickey went to comfort her.

"You're fine," Mickey told her and they watched him hold her close.

"When's sunrise?" she asked and Ianto went for his mobile except he'd left it inside.

"Take it easy," Mickey said and kissed her forehead.

"I just wish it was light out," she spoke with such conviction that Ianto wondered what she had seen. She held a hand over each breast.

"Did anybody turn off the gas?" John asked and everyone shook their heads.

"I didn't do it," Andy answered and Ianto guessed that he had been too busy protecting Tosh who was only wearing one of his shirts.

"Oh, motherfucker," John spat before running over the stone path and back into the house.

"Andy, this is my friend, Lois. She's a pretty incredible person," Mickey said and nodded towards the naked lady.

"Nice to meet you," Andy spoke and stuck out his hand. She took one of her hands off her breast to shake it and Mickey covered it with one of his hands.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, dude! Not cool, Andy..." Mickey complained with a glare.

"That's, that wasn't..." Andy tried to explain and shook his head, "I'm a responsible constable of the law."

"Sure, Tiger Woods," Mickey sniped at him.

"What happened?" Tosh asked and pushed up her glasses.

"Nothing, nothing happened," Andy insisted, taking her hand and motioning back to the house, "Come on."

It had been awhile since the last aftershock. Ianto should have been able to tell the exact length of time in minutes and perhaps seconds, but he found that harder to do when pregnant. Stuff just seemed to fall out of his brain. Maybe he should go back inside. Then, Jack pulled up in his car with Owen in the passenger seat. Ianto sighed and crossed his arms.

"Where were you?" he yelled.

"I knew you'd be fine. I thought you'd just sleep through it since you didn't wake up when I left," Jack explained before jumping out of the convertible.

"Well, I wasn't! John and Mickey had to cut me out of your room when your stupid wardrobe fell and trapped me inside!" he spat as Jack hurried to him.

"What?" Jack asked with big blue eyes.

"Yes, so I hope you enjoyed your little joy ride with Owen. I don't know why it was so important on the night that I let you do that to me," Ianto hurled at him and turned around to go back inside. The horn blew and he looked back to see Owen leaning over the driver's seat. He glared at Jack and motioned at Ianto which Ianto appreciated until Jack shook his head. Then, both Ianto and Owen sighed.

"Do you want me to drive you home?" Jack asked as Ianto continued his angry march back to the house.

"Yes, but first, I need the rest of my clothes and my mobile," he announced without a single glance back. Ianto reached the room first; placing a hand on his belly to protect it from any sharp edges of the wood. He picked up two socks from the floor that might have been his or might have been from Jack. It looked like half of everything he owned had fallen on the floor. He was starting to hate picking things off the floor. Sometimes, it took two or three tries. There was a white piece of paper that had near one of his shoes so he picked both up.

"Nine million pounds?" he asked himself before noticing the name, "Ernest Moore." Jack had aliases with bank accounts nine million pounds? There was no way the government had paid him that much. Only the queen and the upper members of Torchwood made that much. He heard Jack's heavy boots coming nearer and dropped the paper. Ianto forced his feet into the shoes. It was a good thing that he'd followed Rhi's advice about getting shoes he didn't have to tie. However, they were getting tight from his feet being swollen so much. He'd have to purchase the next size up. Jack stood in the doorway and surveyed the damage. With nothing more than a nod, he stepped inside.

"It's only things," he stated and sat on the bed, "but you...you could have been hurt. I thought you'd be safe."

He wasn't sure how to reply to that. Jack might be sorry, but he still felt hurt and a little regret. On the floor, he caught an odd object. It looked very much like a Spartan Infantry Officer's sword.

"What's that?" he asked with a foot pointing towards the object.

"It's a Spartan weapon," Jack told him and his posture seemed to sag in defeat, "This will take ages to clean."

He put his hands to his face and Ianto started to reconsider the tiff between them. Then, he saw a plastic bag that looked familiar. It contained the baby books they had bought that first night. They had been unread and untouched this entire time, that had been months ago. Still, Jack was his daughter's father and they had some good times together, like the sex before he left in the middle of the night. They were expected to have lunch with Rose next Wednesday. He rubbed his face and told himself he had to make it work. Not only were they having a baby together, but despite it all, Ianto did love him. He sat down on the bed.

TWENTY-EIGHT WEEKS ALONG

Jack had really messed everything up. After all those steps forward, it felt like he had set their relationship almost back to the beginning again. Even four weeks later, it wasn't like it used to be. He hadn't stayed overnight again. Not that he could blame Ianto when he didn't like staying there so much himself. He hadn't even bothered replacing the door yet. The sound of rain outside made its way into the house. Jack was on the couch in the living room when his phone chirped. It was Ianto.

"Hello, gorgeous," he answered and knew Ianto was rolling his blue eyes in response. He had just complained the night before that he felt like he grew fatter every day.

"You don't need to try and impress me," said Ianto's voice.

"But I want to," he argued and wondered what he could do to help. Should he go ahead and tell Ianto that they were both in Torchwood? Introduce him to Alice and Steven?

"Hi! So, listen. Will you do me a big favor? Rhi wants us to come over and have dinner tonight. She thinks Johnny is cheating on her," Ianto explained and Jack couldn't believe his ears. Johnny didn't strike him as the type.

"Really?" Jack questioned because maybe he heard wrong.

"Yeah. Well, she saw one of his emails and there's an address. Ugh," Ianto told him and she must have used the software that he'd installed for her.

"I don't want to do that," Jack spoke because he hated those situations.

"Jack, come on," Ianto begged.

"He's not cheating on her," he argued.

"How do you know?" Ianto asked and Jack wondered if he actually felt the same way, too.

"I just know," he said and scratched an itch on his chest.

"Are you sure?" Ianto questioned when John walked into the room. For the last two months, he had appeared to be allergic to clothes.

"I'm one hundred percent sure he's not cheating," Jack said and turned away from where John was doing push-ups. Did he have to do them in the middle of the house?

"Are you really?" Ianto asked and his certainty faltered as the words were being said.

"No. It actually kind of makes sense that he would cheat," Jack admitted even though it was his sister.

"Why?" Ianto questioned.

"Because Rhi can be controlling and Johnny's cool?" Jack retorted.

"Well, why don’t you just come over then, and, we’ll just diffuse the situation a little?" Ianto asked and Jack knew he'd be eating dinner at Rhi's that night.

*****************************************************

Ianto nibbled at the garlic toast. No one had warned him that this so-called "morning" sickness could come back. The rest of the adults were enjoying Rhi's Welsh Rarebit and Tatws Pum Munud. It was the once in a blue moon that she was making food from their childhood and he couldn't eat any of it.

"I’m just saying the music industry is different now. Deep Purple would never even have a chance," Johnny spoke.

"Deep Purple?" Jack asked before taking a bite of his stew.

"They're incredible," Johnny insisted and Ianto couldn't help smiling. Johnny had weird tastes sometimes.

"They really aren't that good," Ianto said, shaking his head. Rhi was mouthing, "Don't" from down the table.

"Old Deep Purple," Johnny amended and dipped his slice of cheese toast in the stew.

"Maybe I could try them," Jack said and Johnny nodded.

"I should get going. I’m supposed to see this band tonight in the Isle of Dogs. Actually, they’re playing at Canary Wharf, so I’ll call you because the reception’s terrible over there," Johnny spoke and Ianto sighed on the inside.

"That's true," Jack agreed and Ianto shot him a glare. He must have noticed at their appointments with Martha that since Torchwood was in Canary Wharf, it had the best reception in Britain. If it was being shit, then Torchwood had wanted it that way at the time.

"And I don’t want you to worry. I’m just going to jump in the shower. It would be terrible if I smelled worse than the band," Johnny said with a laugh and rose from the table. They watched him go and Ianto rubbed his belly. Most of the time, it could make him feel better.

"Okay, have fun," Rhi called after her husband. This was one of those times where even his daughter couldn't take his worry away.

"I'm not sure you have anything to worry about. He seems to be acting normal," Jack spoke and the toast began to come back up. He hurried to the rubbish bin since Johnny said he'd be in the loo.
