Well,...
I tried. This is if Episode One was happening right now on Earth.
The Chamber of Commerce wants new trade and business deals with Hawaii. Hawaii is happy the way it is. The Chamber is forcing the issue by blockading all supplies from reaching the islands. This could turn catastrophic so President Obama sends in the Navy Seals but orders them NOT to kill anyone.
The situation is worse than expected, the Seal Team finds themselves in mortal danger and are just barely able to escape with Hawaiian governor.
After a few side-trips, they bring the governor to Washington, D.C.. However, Congress doesn't believe how serious things are. The Chamber could have a point. Hawaii could be lying. They want a full report on the matter before deciding the best course of action.
Their only hope is have an executive order...except Obama doesn't want to upset the Chamber and all that money either. Biden would be the same way.
The Hawaiian Representative thinks they should impeach the President and the Vice President which would make the new President...
None other than the Speak of the House, the Hawaiian Representative.
This happens just as he planned and they are able to take large scale military action against the Chamber who is forced to leave Hawaii alone, but it was all a ruse to give the Speaker Presidential powers anyway.
