While Saturday Night Live went fairly light-hearted with their Avengers skit, Robot Chicken dealt with the objectification of super heroes as sex objects. Of course, I definitely beg to differ that Natasha, especially Natasha with the super serum/Red Room background, can stand her own against plenty of foes because she also has brains but it can't be denied that she started off just as a Black Widow...a plaything for Tony that would be revealed as a villain. Plus, too many people see cinematic Natasha as nothing more than eye candy to the point of forgetting anything else she did, including fooling the trickster god himself.

However, what really makes the Robot Chicken skit is that after we go through all the sexy tease with Natasha, we go through the same thing with Clint.

Yes, Clint the male gets the sexy music as he bends over, showing off his ass and verbally worries about his place in the team. Meanwhile, the other four male superheroes ogle him just as they did with Natasha. In fact, Thor covers himself to hide his erection which he didn't do the first time which means either that...

Thor didn't care whether his erection from Natasha was easily seen. After all, he comes from a world where he pats himself on the back for supporting Sif's wanting to be a warrior despite being female and his brother has "mewling quim" rolling off his tongue.

Or...

Only Clint gave Thor the erection.

Also, for those who missed it...this is the segment narrated by Tom Hiddleston:

His relationship with Jessica Chastain being outed was also an interesting take in gender studies. Everything revolved around "Jessica Chastain dating..." Most referred to Tom Hiddleston as "War Horse Star". Yes, really...fifteen minutes in a Steven Spielberg film as opposed to every other scene in the 1.6 billion dollar grossing The Avengers. Maybe they thought Loki actor wouldn't sound as cute?
Either way, the lack of investigation into Tom or bothering to find out anything about him sounded more like George Clooney or Leonardo DiCaprio's latest girlfriend...but Tom was the girl. I was annoyed but it was kind of neat to see things flipped that way. Plus, I'm really pleased about Jessica Chastain. She won me over so hard in The Debt and I've been happy over her success ever since.

Then, there's CNN...
They spent all week talking about cheating and when I was watching, they happened to be talking about teenagers cheating, especially on tests.

"the SATs. There was even a whole movie glorifying cheating on the SATS starring Scarlett Johansson!"
The emphasis is NOT mine, they really did scream her name despite The Perfect Score being from 2004 when only about twenty of us even cared who she was AND the scenes they showed containing Chris Evans who was NOT named.

eww

Mom and I are also disappointed at the local paper for printing the Jeremy Renner rumor. It all seems circumstantial at best. The paper should be for stuff that can be proved.
