I don't know what the fuck is wrong with LJ so if the embed doesn't work, here's the link:
http://youtu.be/IcCK55ZnoKM0:06 (both viewings) Squee, it's so PRETTY!!! I just love seeing all of Tolkien's lands bought to life.
0:22 (both viewings) Look, it's Legolas' asshole dad.
0:24 (Second viewing) My Mom: I thought they fit entirely inside the barrels, not with their heads and stuff sticking out.
Me: Maybe they're totally inside them earlier?
0:36 (first viewing) Legolas! Wow, that is some shitty looking CGI, like when he's attacking the cave troll in the first one...
(Second viewing) Okay, it does come off better on the big screen.
0:49 (first viewing) Oh, they aren't going to hook up, are they? He just doesn't swing that way.
(second viewing) Okay, all her interviews say they're just friends so I guess they're just BFFs but I don't want anything to mess up Tolkien's beautiful revision of Romeo & Juliet only with a Dwarf and an Elf...Legolas and Gimli even choose to die together so they'll never be parted but they're hundreds of years old then so it isn't so tragic.
0:53 (both viewings) Radagast, you're back!
1:08 (both viewings) Some of these effect shots just seem so unfinished...and it's that stupid White Orc again...gag me.
1:19 (Both viewings) Oh Luke Evans, you really look too much like Will Turner there for your own good but I'll do my best. I have enjoyed your other roles and Bard! Bard is awesome. Hmm, where's Stephen Fry? Did I miss him?
1:40 (first viewing) The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug? More like The Hobbit: We still don't get to see the FUCKING DRAGON!
(Second viewing) My Mom: I thought you said they showed us the dragon in this?
1:56 (both viewings) Well, we got a full head...that's a start...
My Mom: They changed a lot again, didn't they?
You know, I remember when the first trilogy came out and I was so excited. I'd watched the trailers over and over. I'd scour the internet for any new photos or spoilers.
I wish I could be that excited now but I seem to be too attached to the books now and what I love about them is the complexity, the arcs, the character relationships. I watch this trailer and it's all action and I worry that we'll get a repeat of the first Hobbit where the action got boring for me...
