If you have seen X-Men: Days of Future Past, then I totally recommend watching this episode of The Super Hero Squad Show loosely based off the original comic. It also stars an African-American, a Latino, an extremely old guy and a woman so you know this version would never actually get made...

Go, Falcon and Scarlet Witch!

Okay, so I showed my nephews the new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy and youngest nephew wanted to know more about the song they keep using. I explored on Youtube and found this which I have to share with you guys. It's too messed up not to share.

It's a like a train wreck...YOU CAN'T LOOK AWAY!

1) Something Old: A blurb from one of the first fics you ever wrote.

Now, I've been writing crap since grade school but that would require searching in boxes and such...nah. Instead, I'll go for my earliest X-Files story, dating back to just after "How the Ghosts Stole Christmas" in December 1998. No, I don't like to think about the Tumblr users who are younger than that story...

Scully finished wrapping her presents but had become so wired to not sleep when she didn't want to that she couldn't now that she needed to so she turned on the tv to find a really boring UPN sitcom. Scully and Mulder found the same horrifying message on all the channels though.Marney Goodman, head of FEMA,announcing that because of circumstances lately, they had declared martial law and now controlled the country. All citizens must mow obey their every whim."Oh, shit,"said Mulder."Oh,God,"said Scully.Mulder reached for his cellphone and Scully answered on the first ring since she was just picking up her phone to call Mulder."What do we do now? We don't have a job now," said Scully."We still have a job. It's just more dangerous and more important now. Meet me at the safe place at 01:13 with your possesions that you wouldn't want to do without. I don't think our apartments will be safe ever again," said Mulder. After a long, roundabout drive, Mulder and Scully arrived at the unknown official office of the Lone Gunmen.

No, I didn't know about separating dialogue then. I didn't learn that until two years later.

2) Something New: A snippet from something you're currently working on, or from the last thing you posted.

"Well, when my dad was depressed over something or fired again or dumped or what have you, he always went to the strip club," Darcy told him.

Phil was about to dismiss it right off. However, it would be a change of scenery within the city, fairly low cost, used to privacy concerns and plenty of access to alcohol. There were a lot of perks to it.

"It's an idea," he admitted.

"Ooh, are you going to a strip club? I wanna go. I never get to go anywhere," Skye's voice complained. Phil closed his eyes. Darcy had mentioned she was on the phone.

"Skye-"

3) Something Borrowed: A scene or section of dialogue from another writer's story. Maybe something that inspired you or resonated with you. (Credit the writer and link to it if possible, please.)

She smiled then, and the tears spilled out and down her cheeks. “I never thought I’d see you again.”

“Nor I you,” said Loki. He looked from her down to the blanket she held as it moved again. In that moment, he was certain he didn’t want to see what was beneath it. The room suddenly felt much too small and foreboding; he wanted them all to go and leave him to his misery.

But before he could stop her, Sigyn pulled the blanket down, revealing a tiny jotun baby boy, with a head full of black hair and skin the exact shade of his mother’s eyes. Loki couldn’t help but recoil in equal parts fear and wonder.

“His name is Ari,” said Sigyn, and the hopeful look in her eyes was almost more than Loki could stand.

4) Something Blue: C'mon, you know you've written a really gut-wrenching bit of angst at some point. Let's hear the saddest or angstiest thing you've got. Alternatively? Tell us about the last time you described the color blue.

This is something different I've been working on, not related to the Friends to the End story.

Tasha was staring at him. Everyone stared at him these days. She was one of the few that would still talk to him beyond the politeness of those he passed in the hallways or the endless questions from the various SHIELD appointed shrinks. In a second or two, she was going to say something.

"Clint, Sitwell says you bombed the last two missions. What's going on?"

Her voice was gentle. Somehow, that made all of this even worse.

"I still achieved the objective, I just-" he trailed off and shook his head. It didn't clear his thoughts. "I miss him being the one on the other end. I miss his voice. Nobody else is the same."

He knew from her expression that she expected this answer.

"It was okay that time that Steve did it because...because Phil would have loved that. Captain America telling me what to do," he said and knew his forced smile looked just as bad as it felt.

"Ronin," Tasha said. He'd never heard that word before.

"What'd you say?"

"When a samurai lost his master, he became without direction. Some became mercenaries while others became those they used to hunt," Natasha explained.

Clint couldn't help agreeing with her point. He'd become a Ronin.
