Shara Bey Appreciation Post, Bonus Leia

I may have gone a little over-board but people keep saying they hope Jyn turns out to be Poe's mom and she's not. Poe's mom is Shara Bey and she's freaking awesome...and has much darker skin than Jyn. Please read Shattered Empire and Before the Awakening for more information, both by Greg Rucka. Rucka and Oscar Isaac basically came up with all of the Dameron's backstory.



She also goes undercover...there has been some complaints on Tumblr about why would you have a movie about Jyn Erso when you can have Shara Bey, some claim it's because Rucka and Isaac hadn't come up with the backstory in time but I think it confirms that Jyn must be Rey's mom because they wouldn't spend a whole film on someone who doesn't directly influence 7,8 and 9...but I would still love a whole film on Shara Bey and Kes Dameron.



And somehow I forgot but Shattered Empire is the book that confirms that Poe was raised by her dad while they were still with the Rebellion:
