Day 3 - Is there any of the film adaptations that have made you angry because they’ve ignored important parts of the book?
Uh, all of them?
Chamber of Secrets left out the Deathday Party, Prisoner of Azkaban didn't say who created the Maruader's Map and ALL of them left out Peeves!
However, it was probably how they did the Snape flashback and leaving out the "Mudblood" part that pissed me off the most.

Date: 2011-03-05 02:56 am (UTC)Movie 2: Hermione knows what Mudblood means and cries when Draco (DRACO!) calls her one. If it's not used in civilized conversation, why would she know it? All her knowledge comes from READING.
Movie 3: Yeah, they took lots of liberties, but thing is, mostly they worked. As an ADAPTATION, this is easily my favorite.
Movie 4: Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh they turned Ron into a douchebag and Hermione into a perpetual damsel in distress and Beauxbatons and Durmstrang were both supposed to be co-ed, and only Fleur was supposed to be hella hot because she was a VEELA, and they turned Hogwarts into some kind of hotbed of orgies, I thought.
Movie 6: Took away Ron's impetus for getting with Lavender. Stripped Ginny of all personality. And WTF Steve Kloves, Harry's TERRIBLE with crying girls, whether they're his crush or sister-surrogate.

Date: 2011-03-05 06:02 am (UTC)I've never forgiven them for the 3rd movie - or what I call "The Whomping Willow and the Whomping Willow of Azkaban".
- No explanation of who the Marauders were (and this comes from someone who loathes the Marauders except for Remus).
- No explanation about the Shrieking Shack (of course that may have played havoc with their whole attempt at manufacturing 'St. Sirius')
- No Wood! (Travesty in and of itself)
- Turning Moony into a chihuahua on steroids!
- Dress code issues
- Turning a minor plot device in the book into a focus of the movie. One more shot of that damn tree and I might've thrown something at the screen. Cut out one or two shots of the stupid willow and you've got plenty of time to tell about the Marauders if nothing else.
