Day 23 - Favorite Relationship
Apr. 23rd, 2011 09:20 pmDay 23 - Favorite Relationship
I've talked at length about my love for Norribeth. I also love Willabeth and Sparrington and James/AnaMaria and about every combination you can think of except pairings with Davy Jones in tentacle form. Those are kind of icky.
However, there is one canon pairing that I like as much as Norribeth or Willabeth...Speckett, Beckrow, Jack/Beckett, however, you call it.
Yes, I said canon. It's so canon. When Will asks what mark Jack left on Beckett, he refuses to answer. Why refuse if it's as simple as losing a ship or money?
Then, Jack makes a face at Beckett's name: quite different than the fear or hatred he'd shown for Davy Jones and Barbossa.
When they finally have a scene together, it's very much like old lovers thrown back together after a very horrible break-up. Jack acts like a guy forced to be with an ex he can't stand anymore and who could blame him after Beckett chose a career over him. On the other hand, societal norms would have dictated that choice. However, Beckett still carries a torch for him: the way he watches him with intensity and lets Jack walk all over him. The compass points to Jack when using it.

PS LiveJournal still needs "Devastated" as a mood because after those first fifteen minutes of The Impossible Astronaut, that's exactly what I am.
