Macho Man died today.

When you have older siblings, you never really get to pick what to watch on tv. Early Saturday morning and weekday afternoons were mine, otherwise it was a lost cause. Occasionally, I would get to watch the Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show at 11 AM on Saturdays, but usually, it was this.

Then, when we would borrow or rent a VHS player, my brother, Mark, would borrow vhs wrestling tapes from his friends so we could watch Summer Slam, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. You see, Pay Per View wrestling events used to be RARE instead of every other week.

It wasn't cool or normal for a girl, but I did finally admit to liking wrestling although until The Rock came along, my favorites were always those with kick-ass pets like Koko B. Ware and The British Bulldog...Matilda was awesome!

The sad thing about wrestling though is that they come to such tragic ends that having a heart attack and crashing your car doesn't seem too bad. Still, I know he will be very missed in Tampa Bay and wrestling.

Koko B. Ware and the British Bulldog (RIP) Koko is still alive.

Yes, "Tama" considers Dwayne Johnson as a cousin.

It's a sad day. I remember him doing a cameo as himself on the animated show GI Joe when I was a kid.

My dad was genuinely surprised; we used to live in Atlanta and would go to the matches. I met Sting when I was 4. I used to love wrestling, even though I know the outcome is pre-determined. And it really is a sad sad day.

Though, I know it may seem a little insensitive, I kinda want a Slim Jim right now.

He was really young. That's very sad. The heart tends to give out early in many of the Super-sized atheletes (wrestlers, football, etc.). The heart just can't take it.

It's off topic, I know, but I got stuck in the Target check out line from hell with Dwayne Johnson. He was very much a regular person. Super nice and very funny.

Yes, I was very sad to hear that too. We've lost so many of the great '80's wrestlers: Curt Henning, Rick Rude, the British Bulldog, etc. So sad.

I grew up watching the WWF too, but in my case it was my parents who made me watch it because I have no siblings. Though I ended up liking it so pretty soon I was the one turning it on.

You see, Pay Per View wrestling events used to be RARE instead of every other week.

Oh yes, I remember those days. WrestleMania, SummerSlam and the Royal Rumble weren't just the big events--they were the ONLY events. There wasn't even a regular weekly televised full show until the early '90s. (Saturday Night's Main Event wasn't on every week and Prime Time only showed highlights of matches.) I bet if you told all that to a young wrestling fan they wouldn't even believe you.
