Once upon a time, in college twelve years ago, there was a very enjoyable movie with a leading man I found so amazing that I dragged a friend to it so I could see it again. I hoped he would be in...everything.

He wasn't. He was in supporting roles here and there, failed series there and a bunch of stuff that never came anywhere close to me.

Then, he got cast in a HBO literary adaptation seven years after I first saw him and everyone finally knows his name, lol.

Yeah, it's Peter Dinklage...and you should still totally watch The Station Agent.

I have had that experience often, where I admire an actor enormously and then they vanish without a trace. In my case, you almost never see them again.

Looks like a good movie.
Didn't he play a bad guy in something?

I remember seeing that on DVD when it came out. Watching the downbeat story with Dinklage's cheery commentary turned on was the best part.

When I lived on the West Side, I saw him on the street a couple of times. The first time, I was with some friends at a sidewalk cafe/bar, and I saw a small man with a very large dog -- the dog caught my attention first, and afterwards I was like "wasn't that?" This was before GoT.

The second time, my husband and I were on the corner of our block in Chelsea and we saw him with his wife and dog talking with another couple. (I actually don't know anything about his personal life except that he obviously has a dog, but I'm sure it was his wife.) During GoT.

I often don't notice famous people on the street until they are pointed out to me, so seriously all credit goes to his dog.

Now that looks like a funny and smart movie. Thanks for the recc. In a completely different genre, have you seen him in Knights of Badassdom?

I felt kind of bad because I don't know if my expectations were too high or I just wasn't in the right mood but...it wasn't that funny to me...

Unless I saw him in a commercial, I don't think I have seen any of the X men movies. :o
