Suicide Squad
(sigh)
This is another film with so much potential and then...nope. I think a lot of it has to do with the Enchantress. Until Valerian I thought Cara Delevingne was a bad actress but I really liked her in Valerian so I think she has the Kristen Stewart disease...she needs a proper director to get her best talent or she gets lazy. Not that she had much to work with...Enchantress was such a stupid character in this and then, it makes me more infuriated that they wasted Enchantress which meant that Marvel couldn't use Amora so they used Hela but made Hela a combination of Amora and Angela.
UGHHH
Okay, also...Adam Beach! I was so looking forward to him in a superhero film. He's awesome just...himself. Then, there's the fact that he's First Nations, a native Canadian. Do you realize how few indigenous people are superheroes? And what happens?
He's used as the disposable character to prove that ANYONE COULD DIE!
Fuckers
I might not have been exactly fair to the film once that happened. I was that pissed. Honestly, it could have made for some great social commentary...you have a group of people seen as disposable that are almost all minorities which is often true in real life.
I didn't watch Birds of Prey, my college years were not very conducive for television watching unless I could get people to watch it with me. This was my first real live action Harley Quinn and I loved her. She's still a bit obsessed over the Joker...I ship her with Ivy. She was my favorite part even though it does annoy me that Suicide Squad is why Harley will never actually appear in a real capacity on Arrow or Gotham. NEVER
Damn
But I might re-watch it to see Hopper not being Hopper
