Very cute and only slightly confusing. I figure out who Karori had to be straight away. BTW Karori is a suburb of Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. I've just been to the Karori wildlife sanctuary http://www.visitzealandia.com/Site/Zealandia_Home/Inside/Visit/Default.aspx which is just wonderful, but it does make the name a little jarring. LOL

Actually, that is where I got the name from. When you have a dad named Franklin but the second son is Gray/Grey and River is also an acceptable name in that era, it basically narrows down name possibilities to...BASICALLY ANYTHING IN THE KNOWN OR UNKNOWN UNIVERSE!

So, I just put Grey+Franklin in a search box and came up with the park. I thought it sounded cool. I like K names for protagonists.

That's awesome that you got to go there. "slightly" is good, I don't want everything to be figured out right away although I gave enough clues that Karori's identity shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

That is so funny. If it wasn't a name I recognised I would have thought it was a cool name, it sounds like a "foreign" name.
You'll have to come to NZ and see the park. It is truely awesome - well at least I think so, but I'm an ecology/conservation geek - with a slightly odd thing about endangered insects that creep other people out. (I even wrote a fic in their honour - Weta (not on LJ, over on ff.net) http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4584688/1/bWeta_b

And thanks for you comment about my series. I need to get my a into g and get that finished. The sequel to Weta is nearly done too.

So, how come you never mention this "ecology/conservation" interest on your Livejournal? I know I'm always posting photos of plants and animals I come across on mine and then, I'm also a member of naturesbeauty but I'm too shy so far to post anything.

I know you mention it on your profile, but I mean in actual posts. I don't generally get creeped out by anything alive...except sometimes for pythons because those things can swallow an alligator!
