I have a friend who's losing her place on Saturday. She's trying to be upbeat about it but she has a male cat who has Feline Leukemia. She's looked into shelters but none will take him in for more than thirty days and she doesn't know when she'll be on her feet again. Does anyone know someone in western North Carolina who could foster him?

I'm nowhere near the area and don't know anybody there, but has she tried cat rescue organizations? You can find these sometimes online, contact information for people who participate in them. It's not the same thing as shelters. Rescues try to find foster/permanent homes for various types of kitties.

Don't know anything about NC and not sure where this one's located, but she might try calling this rescue and see if they can find her someone to help.

The FeLuke may cause some issues due to how easily it's spread, but most rescues will have quarantine areas for cats who are positive.
