So, I was trying to remember when we would have gone to MOSI last...I know it's been since they added the new building which narrows it down to...sometime in the last sixteen years...
It's changed...a LOT.

Did you notice the giant hole? That kind of sums up the whole experience. Yes, we spent five hours there but one of those hours was an enjoyable Bugs! film narrated by Judi Dench. The other four hours were spent alternating between fun and disappointment. Yes, I realize things break in a "hands on" museum but seriously? With the old exhibits, I remember maybe 3-5 exhibits would be down? Today? Today was more like, 10-20 which is a lot when not all exhibits have stuff to do. There was a lot of watching stuff which is kind of like, If I wanted to watch stuff, I could have stayed home.
They no longer have the awesome giant pinball or where your hair would stand up or pedaling to make the tv run or the fossil whale or...so much. Supposedly, they still have the Challenger Learning Center but the public has no access to it. You used to be able to look in at it. There is a high wire bike but I couldn't tell that anyone was actually able to use it. Earthquake was locked despite the times being right by the schedule. None of the "Take Your Photo" stuff worked and that balloon is supposed to launch every five minutes. It did not.
(sighs)
Plus, when I was little, there was none of this paying an admission price PLUS this and this and that for the deluxe activities. That's crazy.
Kids in Charge! is fun though. It's included in admission and felt more like the old Mosi.
Here I am playing dress up at the Pirate exhibit.

Oh, but I just remembered another problem with the exhibits. They had two exhibits that would say how tall you were. The first exhibit said I was just shy of five feet and the second exhibit said I was the same height as Mini Me!!!
Excuse me?
I was so paranoid that I checked my weight at home...5'1 and a half inch, no change, I hadn't shrunk. *phew*
Here's one of the best parts of the museum and totally free since you can see them from the lobby.
