ericadawn16: (Confused)
Working Title: Zeze I'm horrible with titles.
Projected Word Count: Well, I have to hit 50,000 to count, right?

AT THE START DO YOU:
Have an outline? Sort of, I wrote a script that was very similar in 2003 but it's going to deviate a lot since you can do so much more with a novel. Plus, it's "inspired" by Jane Eyre.
Know how it starts? Oh yes, the prologue is finished!
Know how it ends? Uh...somewhat...
Have your climax in order? Right, I need one of those, don't I?
Know your main characters yet? Yes, I spent several days becoming more acquainted.

IS YOUR WORK GOING TO BE:
Funny? Well, bits, even Harry Potter manages to have that.
Serious? Well, I want it to have some points to it.
Sad? Well, I'm less than 1,800 words in and I've killed off three people...
Semi-Autobiographical? Not a lot, but there are little things here and there that some people might catch.
Based on another story? Well, "inspired" by Jane Eyre since she has an awful aunt, an uncle who would like to do right by her and will work as a governess but she can also see ghosts, learns how to be a criminal and has problems with pirates...

HOW MUCH HAVE YOU PLANNED? HAVE YOU USED:
A paper journal? For the original script, yes.
Multicolored pens? That sounds fun...but no.
A computer? Yep.
Index cards? No, I lose them.
Bulleted lists? Uh...no, I have had lists before but not for this one.
Plot Charts? I don't think I've ever done the chart.
Character Charts? Not even that...
Character formulas? I thought about taking Zeze on a Hero's Journey but that can easily come off formulaic and predictable so we'll see...
Favorite writing resource? Dictionary.com. Dogpile, baby name books, Wiki, whoever happens to be on AIM...

ODDS AND ENDS:
A line you would like to use: Hmmm "They say he fought the Devil and won. All the Devil could take was part of his ear."
A scene you would like to include: Walter talks about how the hotel used to be when it opened and how he had to give rickshaw rides to guests.
A concept you would like to explore: I want to have more magic and possibly steampunk. I've never written steampunk before.
A cliché you would like to avoid: As mentioned, predictable Hero's Journey segments and Zeze falling in love with her employer...another deviation from the "source" material.

A character you would like to use: Meiopi who I've managed to insert into a number of stories.

FORWARD THINKING:
Do you expect to be able to complete it? Yes, even if it takes me to that June 26 date currently predicted on Nanowrimo.
Do you intend to complete it? Yes.
Would you ever try to publish it? That's the whole point, right?
What do you expect to get out of this month of frantic writing? Well, I was supposed to start on it in August and didn't so this is a good way of forcing myself.
