Questlove Censored
Dec. 11th, 2011 09:15 pmI'm not a musicologist. I know more than a lot but a lot less than some. I like paying attention to the Walk-On songs on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon but sometimes, I don't know them, like when Michelle Bachmann came on, I just heard them singing something like, "Fa la la la". I thought it was an interesting but had no idea what it was.
Technically, she is a proven liar but Questlove has apologized for the "bitch" part. Still, Bachmann wanted his head. Glenn Beck wanted Jimmy Fallon's head.
Whatever, it's a late night talk show, not Sesame Street.
Unfortunately, it's NBC and they've proven time and again how craven cowards they are. They have not fired Jimmy or Questlove BUT...
Questlove must now clear every walk-on song with three different people, and can under no circumstances tweet about the Bachmann incident ever again.
He's upbeat about it.
"It's still a comedy show, so they promise not to step on my toes or that type of thing, but they definitely want to know the title of the song, the subject matter of the song – can it be seen as an insult? It was kind of wrong for me to throw [NBC] under the bus without telling them what it was, so I understand from a business standpoint."
But I'm still worried because it's NBC and they have a history of being dicks...or is that the male equivalent to bitch?
There's actually a petition to get rid of the censorship here:
