Here are some of my favorite videos this week that I showed my nephews:

Fifty years of the TARDIS!

I first found this because Clark Gregg retweeted it and added, "What the hell is this?"

Because the Hulk does enjoy punching people out of frame...

Marvel: All the men must grow out their hair!
Directors: You just mean Loki, right? And we're using a wig for that.
Marvel: ALL MEN!

It's the 70s though so I totally get it.

If you have not seen the most awesome 2 minutes and 47 seconds ever right now:

Unfortunately, they have confirmed that J. August Richards is NOT playing Luke Cage.
(Pouty face)
But I'm sure his character will still be very awesome.

Also, Toys-r-us had this awesome little Skateboard with the SHIELD Logo but I didn't get a photo and now I can't find one online. It was with the Ultimate Spider-Man stuff though.

I'm not the only one picturing the little girl as Natasha, am I?

Okay, that should be it for tonight, sorry for all the posts. They would have been more spread out if LJ wasn't being such a dick.

Remember The Hollow Crown?
PBS FINALLY SCHEDULED IT!

“The Hollow Crown – Richard II” – September 20
“The Hollow Crown – Henry IV, Part I” – September 27
“The Hollow Crown – Henry IV, Part II” – October 4
“The Hollow Crown – Henry V” – October 11

Oh yes, we did get them to keep the original title. They had wanted to change it to "Divine Right". Bah.
I was disappointed that the scheduling makes any Emmy considerations basically non-existent. However, we could see some nominations from the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild especially since it's already won multiple awards in Britain...yes, I do want nominations for the sole purpose of forcing Tom Hiddleston, Ben Whishaw, etc. to attend and thus, be on my tv a little bit more.

Okay, this isn't related to Tom Hiddleston in any way but it's a really good performance and I highly recommend it:
PBS ARTS FALL FESTIVAL: GREAT PERFORMANCES “Stephen Sondheim’s Company with the New York Philharmonic”

Legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim’s groundbreaking musical Company, about a confirmed bachelor celebrating his 35th birthday with his 10 closest friends, gets a dream cast including Neil Patrick Harris, Patti LuPone, Stephen Colbert, Anika Noni Rose, Martha Plimpton and many more. Friday, November 8, 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET

Additionally...
SUPERHEROES

The first documentary to examine the evolution of the heroes who leapt from the pages of comic books over the last 70 years, this three-part miniseries chronicles how disposable diversions that once cost a dime became the foundation for a multi-billion-dollar industry, from 1938 to 2010. Wednesdays, October 8 and 15, 8:00 p.m. ET
“Truth, Justice, and the American Way” (1938-1958) – October 8
“Great Power, Great Responsibility” (1959-1977) – October 15
“A Hero Can Be Anyone” (1978-2010) – October 15, 9:00pm *I know, I'm sad about that 2010 cut off as well, but that could still include the first two Iron Man films and thus, I will watch for any appearance by Coulson.

HOW SHERLOCK CHANGED THE WORLD

Forensic scientists, crime historians and Sherlockian experts reveal for the first time the astonishing impact Arthur Conan Doyle’s creation had on the development of real-life criminal investigation and forensic techniques. Tuesdays, November 19 and 26, 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET

P.S. Only Lovers Left Alive

aka VAMPIRE TOM!!!!!

I'm excited. It looks like it's going for a more cerebral vampire story. The cast is awesome and yeah, vampire Tom is hot.

I did see the trailer for Thor: The Dark World on the big screen before Iron Man 3 so I have additional thoughts.

Every time I see this part, I think "Darcy, you found Rory!"
 photo NotRory_zps373c5619.jpg

I know it's not but that would be awesome, like when you're watching Captain America and Clara is supposed to be Steve's date...

So, that's like five seconds of warning that you have to go to another planet for Jane...Thor is officially worse than the Doctor.

I know the trailer set up Sif's scolding look to be for Jane but I really think it's for Loki. I think she's over the hair thing by now but...everything else...

There's just something about that huge screen with the right sound system, it makes everything 10x more awesome. This is such a good trailer on its own but I hope I get to see it again in a theatre.

I don't really have thoughts on Chris Eccleston yet except that I want to cut his ponytail off...

I still feel the way Tom Hiddleston delivers his two lines is vastly different.
The first line is very much like what we expect from Loki, very similar to his line in The Avengers.
The second is much more heavy with this sense of...weariness. Partly, Thor has just promised to kill him which is the first time we've heard that from him and probably the same for Loki.

Partly, I wonder if Tom Hiddleston re-thought how he plays Loki and how Loki would be in this film. He had JUST finished filming Only Lovers Left Alive where he plays an immortal who's more ancient than he appears but still sort of finding his place in this world. Obviously, there are a lot of parallels there with Loki and I do wonder if they influenced each other.

Once it ended, I turned to my brother and asked, "Can we watch this now?"

Of course, the first time that I see a trailer for Captain America: Winter Soldier with Steve, Natasha, Sam and possibly Bucky? Oh, that sub-sonic squeal of delight is going to break every freaking piece of glass in this house.
