Comics Update!

I finally made it to a Books-a-million today which means I was able to catch on comics! The closest Barnes and Noble is three episodes behind with everything that matters.

Angel and Faith

I love this series so much but this is the only location that even carries it so I missed a few things...like the fact that they successfully resurrected Giles!

Well, not exactly, it's more like Kid!Giles...really Tumblr? No tag yet?
Similar? Inspired? Take your pick from Kid!Loki, Giles is now a fourteen, maybe fifteen year old boy with all the memories and sense of self as he did when he died. At the end of the issue, Faith asked what he was going to do since he had no interest in becoming his great aunts' responsibility, due to his age, and he said how, in his whole life, he was happiest with Buffy so he was going to go find her.

Aww.



It'd be cool if season ten had Buffy being, legally, Giles' guardian, lol. I suppose, technically, that Thor is Kid!Loki's legal guardian?

Iron Man

I've missed too much, I'm totally lost. Did we get the full story on why Maria was going to lose Tony before he was born and what exactly they did to Tony as a fetus to save him? What exactly is going on now?

Journey into Mystery

Oh, Sif...I'm going to miss you so much! The last page was perfect. In the letters, they said how it was okay because she was going to be in Thor again but...that's not the same at all! It's not like Hawkeye where they alternate between Clint and Kate since they are both the title characters. Let's be honest, Sif is going to get the shaft unless they give her a new series. I was hoping for a letter from Jaimie Alexander but there was a letter from Loki Laufeyson, claiming that he was told the series would end months ago and they'd be hearing from his lawyers. Interestingly, his lawyers were listed as Nelson & Murdock...I wonder if Daredevil had always been his lawyer or only since his reincarnation? I know the movie made it clear that Matt only defended the innocent but I can't remember about the actual comics.

Hawkeye

No Kate...boo...

Still, Clint and Barney...ugh, so tragic and sweet and horrible. I like that they made Barney alive again. I love that shot in The Avengers when they show Clint watching Thor and Loki and Jeremy Renner has this expression on his face so you KNOW he's thinking about himself and Barney.

In that scene where Clint's scared about the door opening, did he think his dad was going to beat him up some more or...was he scared about something else? Barney had to calm him down.

Young Avengers

Man, I missed a lot. I hadn't read about anything on that first catch-up page and I guess I'll have to buy the graphic novel when it comes out. I even missed the return of Leah! I'm starting to really like Loki/Leah and Loki being around others closer to his physical age like when the others teased him about having an "ex".

I definitely can see how the rumor started about Kate being pregnant. In an earlier issues, they mentioned Kate hanging out with Clint so I guess it must be concurrent with the other series? This means that she can't be pregnant.

It was a little Chavez-lite...
