2013 Year End Meme *serious*
Feb. 3rd, 2014 09:06 pm1. What did you do in 2013 that you’d never done before?
I had an iced latte which briefly made me reconsider whether I hated coffee. Then, I had a hot latte and realized, yes, I DO still hate coffee. I think it's actually hot drinks and things that I hate. I also hate hot tea, hot chocolate and fruit once it's been cooked.
2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I did not. I never make resolutions although that's not the same as not having goals. I'm still hoping to finish that book, clean the house more thoroughly and maybe finish "Friends to the End".
3. How will you be spending New Year’s Eve?
I spent it as I always do, with my mom. At midnight, we hugged and drank our Naked Green Monster.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, but everyone else did and I felt so bad for them.
5. What countries did you visit?
The US, lol.
6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?
An actual holiday season.
7. What date from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
April 18, 2013, two of my very good friends had a baby girl.
8. What was your biggest achievement(s) of the year?
I made Associate of the Quarter at work.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not only did I not finish the book, but I decided to totally change the premise...
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Please get your Shingles vaccination. It SUCKS. Don't get me wrong because the commercials lie. The commercials make it seem like you have this burning for two weeks or so and can't have people touch you and that's it.
The reality is that you don't even know what's wrong with you at first. I thought I had a new allergy or had a stress rash. Then, for the NEXT THREE MONTHS, the entire nerve associated with your Shingles is GOING TO HATE YOU! I'm hoping that my three months is up because my arm and side hasn't been bothering me, but it could just be the mild temperatures. The cold temperatures really flared it up more.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Hmm, well, the most awesome thing I bought was the Briefcase set.
12. Where did most of your money go?
Student loans, bills, Disney (comics, books, movies) and jewelry...I'm a sucker for unusual Juicy charms especially vehicles.
13. What song will always remind you of 2013?
Royals by Lorde
14. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Writing and reading.
15. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Screwing around on the internet...
16. What was your favorite TV program?
Ugh...too many...but I will admit that Agents of SHIELD is my only scripted programming that I HAVE to watch if I was busy earlier that evening.
17. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Eh, I don't like hating people. That's a strong emotion that should be reserved for ideas like bigotry. There are people that I'm definitely disappointed with and hope that they can find the help they're looking for or need.
18. What was the best book you read?
Again, I love so many. I keep every Hawkeye graphic novel on Pre-Order. I also loved 1602 which I finally read. I also read all of "The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" which is just amazing and re-read "On the Road", this time with the real names. Once you've read the real names, you can never go back.
19. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Lorde, Bastille and Ariana Grande
20. What was your favorite film of this year?
American Hustle
21. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
31 and I saw The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug naturally.
22. What kept you sane?
This sounds totally weird but Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter...whenever, I was frustrated and annoyed and depressed and just wanted some nice Tom Hiddleston or animals or something, then they were always obliging.
23. Who did you miss?
There was far too little Jeremy Renner for my liking. Also, a very good friend at work was out for several months from breaking her ankle.
24. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned.
Work is always better when you find ways of amusing yourself and you should laugh no matter how weird it looks. Also, how to fix a circuit breaker.
25. What does 2014 hold for me?
Lots of nice new Marvel films and hopefully, a lot less shit than 2013...2013 was the year where everything that could go wrong did.
