So, earlier I watching "Star Wars: Evolution of the Lightsaber Duel" which is an ESPN documentary on ESPN...there is no part of that sentence that isn't weird.

In order to fit the sport requirement, they focused on the martial arts aspect especially Kendo. However, they also had a lot of behind the scenes interviews and footage.

I totally forgot that Obi-Wan was supposed to survive in that very first film but Lucas and others decided it would work better if he died.

When I was younger, this never bothered me. It's not like he was gone forever, he was with the Force. Now, it sometimes bothers me more now that I've seen everything that led to his looking after Luke in the first place.

But...those speaking on the documentary pointed out that Obi-Wan's death was not just about sacrifice, it was about showing the power of the Force...how Obi-Wan had conquered death in a way. It wasn't the end, just a new beginning. This is also proven by having Obi-Wan still be able to contact Luke.

On the other hand, when you have a character not Force sensitive die...it's not satisfying and I guess it's more realistic that way but realism is not why I watch Star Wars.

Also, the special was hosted by Mark Hamill who I thought I recognized from looks but his voice sounded weird. On the other hand, my mom didn't recognize him by sight...she will be seeing the new film on Thursday...but she saw him named in a graphic and did kind of recognize the voice.
