This is a new lightning cable but yesterday, I heard a strange sound, looked over and my iPod 4 cable was on FIRE.
BEWARE!
Apple knows that their cable is prone to do that and what's their standard line?
The user must have bent it.
Umm, how's that cable packaged in the first place?
Yeah, that's right, you BEND it!
Please be careful of your Apple cords and replace any that have any wear to them. We aren't taking any chances any more. If it's overnight or a device is charging without supervision, it goes in a metal cake pan.
