Day 8 - How do you think Will is doing as the captain of the Flying Dutchman?
I think Will is probably perfect for the job. For the most part, he's been able to keep his optimism and sense of duty so I know he'll be fair. He gets to know his father better.
However, what I really hate is that Will has now been forced into the same position his father chose where he will see his son very, very, VERY rarely. Yes, I do think they see each other because Ted and Terry mentioned Elizabeth having other adventures, including going to the Land of the Dead to see multiple people. It's going to be very, very hard on her and Will the 3rd aka Jamie for those ten years and Will is going to feel very badly about that.
I'm also curious about who his replacement would be. I suppose it'll probably be someone we don't know but I like to think it would be James or maybe James and Beckett would be forced to serve on the crew for a while to atone...

Date: 2011-04-16 06:17 am (UTC)Elizabeth goes to get James back...because I don't know if the living can go beyond the rowboats BUT multiple Disney books state that anyone who refuses Jones has to go to the Locker and James DID refuse Jones, did he not?
I really hate the idea of James being in the Locker but if it can lead to an easy loophole like that, I'm all for it.

Date: 2011-06-17 01:29 am (UTC)Yes, he is in a nasty spot, being an absentee father. One couldn't even call that a real marriage I don't think. I also think Elizabeth got cheated by the thing... It's pretty sad. The only one who it turned out good for was Bootstrap, as he gets all of that time with Will! :( But after killing James, why should Bootstrap get "rewarded"?
I think Will did a much better job than the new Phillip. I read before that Phillip was supposed to be similar to Will (maybe in appearance??) but the two just don't compare. Will had energy and intensity on the screen and Phillip is just sort of flat ... but it is good he has a kind heart & saved Serena.
