So, everyone in the media seems really excited about the royal wedding. They like doing live shots with random people.

However, there was this one live shot with all the union jacks hung up and my first thought was, It looks just like it did in The Idiot's Lantern!

I feel like I should care more because they all seem very excited, even my mom's like "but he's going to be King!" but everyone was so excited for the Charles and Diana wedding and look how well that turned out. At least I don't seem to be alone since Daniel Radcliffe mentioned on Late Night that most people are more excited about the four day weekend.

Although I did think the email I got from Disney was cute. They had tips for throwing a whole royal wedding tea party!

How can I get my very own Disney princess paper doll?

Aw the paper doll set is adorable. I think she's the only reason why I'm mildly interested in the wedding because I don't pay that much attention to the royal family in general.

From what I've gathered, this is not as big a deal as Diana's wedding. Hers was a combination of elements (including economic troubles - ring a bell?) that made it a HUGE event. Di's wedding didn't even fit in Westminster Abbey, where Kate and Will are holding theirs.

And yeah, most people here are just excited about the long weekend, from what I've seen. But there'll be a nice influx of tourism.

As a Brit, I think it's something lovely for us to celebrate at a difficult time. It's nice to have something to look forward to, to bring the country together.

I wasn't even born at the time of Charles and Diana's wedding, so I don't really know all the details, but from what I know she was chosen for him. He was already in love with Camilla, but she wasn't deemed right for the Royal family. So really, as "fairytale" as the whole wedding was, the marriage was never going to last. William and Kate, however, have chosen each other. This is their wedding, they've had a lot of say in what is going to happen.

So, yes, I can understand that people in other parts of the world won't all be particularly interested, but for us in the UK, it's a celebration for our future King.
