P.O.V.

Dave should have known better than to expect a quiet visit to Cardiff. Quiet visits just didn't seem possible when you were Merlin's heir. He'd been exploring a castle right in the heart of Cardiff when he felt like he was being watched. Dave turned just in time as a fireball came at him. He dissipated it and slowed down time so he could plan the next move. He pulled molecules together to form water on the floor and heard the Morganian fall as time caught up. However, he was shocked to see it was a young woman, not much older than he or Becky. He hoped she would change her thinking because he didn't want to hurt her. Dave vanquished Morgana because he had no choice, but he couldn't imagine doing it again. She raised her hand with a jeweled bracelet that started to glow. Dave lowered the temperature around her hand to freezing and plucked the bracelet from her.

"I'll just keep this for now until you learn how to play nicely. Didn't you guys have Barney over here?" Dave asked and she glared as he noticed by her clothing that she seemed to be headed for a ancient Egyptian costume party or reenacting The Ten Commandments. She spat something in a language he didn't know and kicked him in the crotch. He hadn't been expecting that and she stole her bracelet back. The room grew pitch black as she deflected all the light. He created a fireball just to see and saw her profile. However, he found himself being thrown across the room. He dissipated the fireball and braced for the impact. With all his concentration, he pulled in more light so everything was visible.

"Stop!" called a new voice and he saw another young woman enter. He'd never battled two Morganians at the same time. The Egyptian uttered something else and threw a fireball at the new woman. She ducked but Dave was able to redirect it in time. It left a scorch mark on the wall. Then, the new woman shot at the first who disappeared.

"What the bloody Hell?" she asked and turned to him, not lowering her gun. "Start talking, what alien technology are you hiding?"

Alien? He didn't know what she was talking about but maybe it was better to play along rather than explain magic? And how was she able to see it anyway?

"Uh, she took it," he claimed and could tell she didn't believe him.

"I saw you, you were also using some sort either deflection device or something else using molecules in the air. This planet has nothing of the sort right now so start talking."

"Can I get a name first?" he asked. "My name's Dave."

"Fine, Martha," she said. "Jack, I might need back-up here."

She was using some sort of wireless comm. Device so she couldn't be another Morganian. However, she had seen magic and didn't seem willing to just let him go.

"I'm...I'm a sorcerer," he admitted and she started to laugh.

"Right, like Harry Potter and all that? Nice try, mate."

He created a fireball which left her unimpressed and keeping her gun on him. This was a problem he hadn't had before. Even though it took a lot of energy, he willed himself to disappear from his current position and reappear behind her.

"Boo," he whispered and she turned around.

"But...how?"

"It's not like the Harry Potter stuff. It's more like a different point of view. You have to view it as science," Dave tried to explain and her brown eyes lit up.

"I like science," she said before adding, "I'm a doctor."

"I'll be a doctor in December...hopefully, but in physics," Dave spoke and she lowered her gun.

"You should come meet Jack," Martha spoke and Dave nodded; not wanting to cause further trouble. He also put on his ring since it made him seem more official. They walked outside to where a man in an old blue coat was waiting. Martha looked around and spoke in a low voice, "He's a sorcerer."
This must be Jack. He laughed until Dave noticed him spotting the ring.

"I thought that was a legend, a myth," Jack spoke and chuckled again.

"What is it, Jack?" Martha asked.

"He's wearing the ring of Merlin. I saw it once in the Delirium Archive. They claimed that it had belonged to powerful sorcerers, including Merlin but I thought it was a fairy tale," Jack explained. "I should have known fairy tales usually start in some sort of fact."

Dave shrugged.

"So, what should we do with him?" Martha asked. "Just let him go?"

"Let him go? No, I think Ianto would be upset if I got to meet the heir of Merlin and he didn't," Jack said with a grin. Coming closer, he asked, "You don't mind meeting my fiancé, do you? Our daughter's been sick so he's home with her."

How could he refuse after all of that?

"No, no problem, I'd love to," Dave agreed and Martha took him aside.

"I have to warn you, he's armed with baby photos and he's going to show them," she said with a laugh.

"I think I can handle myself, nice meeting you," he said and waved to her.

"See, Sarah Jane, she turns two next month..." Jack started.
