Okay, I had no plans of seeing this and then my mom wanted to go because, "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity: seeing a movie named 9 on 9/9/09."
So, we saw 9 and have I mentioned how robots tend to freak me out?
Yeah, robots freak me out unless they're cute like Star Wars, Daleks or K9.
Plus, we have a post-apocalyptic world which I don't tend to like. I know we're messing up the planet, I don't need to be "entertained" to be reminded of that.
HOWEVER, I...LOVED IT!
Shocked? So am I, I was scared so much at times, it was creepy and strange and ultimately...uplifting. Yeah, I'm going to spoil. I won't explain how but there's a happy ending involved. My mom even thinks it suitable for children.
Although she also felt a very Coraline vibe, which I mentioned to a friend before. There was a clip with a spider creature attacking dolls with needle and thread. Turns out that it's not a spider, it's Myfanwy's evil twin, but my mom was still, Coraline!
She also admitted to finding button=eyed creatures on Noggin creepy ever since watching Coraline.
