There's something that has to be slightly ironic about being in a theatre built in 1926 where you're watching an audience watching a film in 1927. Now, it was fancier than Tampa Theatre. It had the full orchestra instead of just an organ and a lot more people in the audience but still, when you're surrounded by 1926 oppulence...I was amused. It was clear that the filmmakers were expecting you to see it at a Multiplex where the contrast between movie going now and movie going there would be easily seen.
Still, I LOVED The Artist, not as astounding as Hugo but worthy of all of its accolades. Would you have ever thought John Goodman...in a Best Picture film?
But you can't see The Artist at Tampa Theatre tomorrow at 3 PM because...
They're showing The Muppet Movie!
I wish I could go but I have to work. :(
If you do go, try to spot Princess Leia:

Also, we went on Christmas so the organist played Christmas carols. It was beautiful, like church but without the sermonizing.
Okay, if anyone has read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I have some questions.
In the book, does she...?
Keep deferring to Google?
She's a hacker. Shouldn't she be using a metasearch engine? I mean, I do because Google annoys me with their search results. It's my back-up search engine.
Eat Happy Meals?
I love kids meals. They're cheap and have nice portions but the way they kept showing the box and McDonalds...it distracted me and took me out of the moment. I suppose it could have been symbolic of her arrested development or to contrast with the serious nature of what was happening, BUT...
Both Google and McDonalds just came across as blatant product placement, eww.
So, tell me I'm wrong and both were in the book. Also, Erik better not become evil in The Avengers because aside from Thor, my mom is convinced that Stellan only plays bad guys. First, he kills Norrington. Now, he tries to kill Daniel Craig.
Also, there were major changes from book to screen about the ending but no one will tell us what they were. My mom was also concerned about whether they get back together. I told her Wiki said they did by the end of the series.
I'm also excited about Daniel Radcliffe hosting Saturday Night Live TONIGHT!!! Woohoo!
I hope they don't waste him.
