Why isn't Smash better?
It's so frustrating so I'm going to skip all the asinine parts where I want to hit something and go right for the bits I like.

Namely, my biggest highlight of the last three episodes was in 1.3 when Derek was in bed and then, putting his clothes back on.

Yes, I enjoy naked feet a lot and Jack has nice naked feet. Also, he put his socks on last which means he probably took them off first which means he doesn't fall victim to the Sock Gap!

No self-respecting woman will ever let a naked man in socks do the squelchy with her.

Yes, having random Coupling quotes pop in your head while watching does make it better.

I do also like Tom and John but the last episode implied it's not going to last long...

BOO, how can a tv series about a show on Broadway NOT be a slash fest?

Also, Ellis seems to have more in common with Ianto than I thought but I don't remember him being in 1.5 at all...

Ugh. However, I did enjoy Derek explaining how he's married to his work especially since it was in such a deep, sexier voice....he could explain he liked to kill people and collect their ears in a bucket in that voice and I probably wouldn't have a problem with it.

I was kind of disappointed with 1x05, though Derek was definitely absolutely awesome there (best character of this whole show, I think).

I've also found that employing the Giggle Loop while watching the show makes it more enjoyable. And everytime Derek is on screen I use my Nudity Buffer. Too bad Smash isn't on cable -- I wouldn't have to use my imagination so much....

P.S. And good for you for focusing on the bits you like. There are so many things I'm not liking, I've chosen to focus on what I do. Namely, Derek, Derek, Derek. Did I mention that I like Derek?

The sock gap. XD I watched Coupling before I was interested in Doctor Who so the couch rant was one of the first times I heard the word Dalek. :D

I'm enjoying Davenport's salt-and pepper hair look. And Megan Hilty means in my head there's a Wicked/Pirates/Coupling/Addams Family movies crossover going on here. :)

I enjoy most of it, honestly, but I was screaming at the TV when Julia kissed Michael back. I knew her son was going to see them and that makes it 1000% worse. Just, yuck.

Also, I didn't like what a b*tch Ivy was to Karen. I mean, I know it makes sense, especially with the way the director is manipulating them against one another, but still.

Also, I love Dev and I hate the thought that Karen may cheat on him with Derek (just judging from previews). I hope I'm wrong. Then again, he could cheat on her with the chippie reporter, so who's to say. Still, Karen is my favorite and even though I think Derek is a sleaze for manipulating them both and possibly taking the job away from Ivy and sleeping with her (possibly them both).

At least the musical numbers are still fun.
