Good article! We tend to dislike going to EPCOT at night during the Food & Wine Festival--there are always bands of college-age people roaming from country to country getting drunk. I've never seen any incidents of violence or the like, but if nothing else they tend to be a lot looser with their language, and while I'm no prude about language, it's just not right at a Disney park! Don't even get me started on people who light up cigarettes wherever they feel like it, which I think I also notice a bit more than usual during Food & Wine.

You know, I expect that behaviour from young adults. Not all of them have fully developed emotionally, but what my mom and I hate is the people HER AGE!

There are a lot more people who I would guess aged 45-65 causing trouble than the young people. At least, when we went to the festivals, it was this age range who acted the most as though we had intruded on their own private bar. They talked loudly...even during concerts. They smoked wherever as you said. They drank and drank and drank and yes, they're not polite, they use awful language and it's just...

You're old enough to be someone's grandparent, shape up!

Then again, I almost witnessed a physical fight between old ladies during a screening of The King's Speech so maybe the rudeness has just spread to all ages,

I do know that when people complain about not being able to smoke where they want, I say with pride that it's because I VOTED for it to be that way!

Interesting article... I've been to DCA quite a bit during peak drinking hours, (like when Electronica is is full swing) and I've never seen any incidents like this, which I think speaks well of the cast members and park security. We end up at DCA for dinner a lot when we've got the choice, mostly because I've always kind of liked the fact that I can get a beer with my clam chowder or a margarita with my Mexican food...

Besides, it would be awfully expensive to get TRULY drunk on just alcohol from the park, I would think... Unless we're talking about the drinks they sell during Electronica. Those ARE pretty strong, or at least the ones I had were.

A friend whose boyfriend works at DCA once told me that the reasons the margarita/beer cups are violet yellow and the electronica drinks come in sparkly ice cubes or glasses is to alert cast members that the person holding said container might be a drunken moron. It made me be VERY careful about how I act while I'm holding one, even if I'm not anywhere near drunk.
