Another theme is 'sentiment'. Loki goes on and on about how sentiment is a weakness (which is HILARIOUS because he is nothing but sentiment) but the film shows that sentiment - belief - is what empowers people. It's what drives Coulson's sacrifice, Natasha's determination to get Clint back, Tony reaching out to Bruce, Bruce coming back... I don't even need to talk about Thor and Steve, who are all about belief and never giving up.
