PBS has been having a fabulous series entitled Shakespeare Uncovered and it's all online! FULL EPISODES!

http://www.pbs.org/wnet/shakespeare-uncovered/video/

I'm not sure which countries are covered but it's worth a shot.

Each episode is hosted by a different actor who has acted in that role or play before. It's really interesting and has awesome hosts.

Macbeth- Ethan Hawke, this one was okay probably but Macbeth is my favorite play so I loved it.
The Comedies- Joely Richardson, I missed this one.
Richard II- Derek Jacobi, I will always love him for his roles but I had a hard time with his personal views here...still, Ben Whishaw, woo!
Henry IV & V- Jeremy Irons and Tom Hiddleston... *dies*
Hamlet- David Tennant... *reincarnated only to die AGAIN*
The Tempest- Trevor Nunn, in college, Nunn was the man, the expert in putting on Shakespeare plays.

Oh right, that's another thing, my History minor was based in Victorian and Elizabethan history, including a whole year of studying Shakespeare plays.

I was watching these the other night on WTTW - Channel 11 and I thought...I should off the couch and tell my flist, but then laziness got the better of me when it said...your flist already knows about it...I stayed on the couch.

The Tennant episode was brilliant, and I'm getting a kick out of the idea of Hiddles as Henry V.

I saw some of these when they were on the BBC. Was Derek Jacobi banging on about how Shakespeare didn't really write the plays and it had to an aristocrat? I know that's why he was in Anonymous. I have no patience for that theory, it's so snobbish.
