But I can't be too mad at them since Russell T Davies and company based how they rebooted Doctor Who on how Whedon did Buffy.
UGH!!!! I wish the internet could give me what I want easier...there used to be an article from 2004 or 2005 about how one of the major facts they kept in mind was how the majority of financial/tv decisions were made by women so advertisers and producers wanted them to heavily target women in their new Doctor Who so they freely admitted to using Whedon's Buffy as an example to follow...

Then, you have Torchwood where this long-lived guy surrounds himself with associates to help save the world while he looks for his way out of his situation, only it's waiting for a Doctor instead of atonement or Shanshu. Heck, both Angel and Torchwood's second episode ever is all about a sex demon/alien. You could write a paper on all the things Torchwood stole from Angel and Whedon, including James Marsters and Jane Espenson. Whedon jokingly referred to the stealing of Marsters at ComiCon years ago.
But it's interesting because we have to throw Warehouse 13 into the mix since Espenson co-created that. Warehouse 13 appears to be based off Espenson's love of Torchwood and making an American version out of it. Then, she leaves the show and gets hired by Davies to work on the last season of Torchwood while Warehouse 13 has guest actors from both Whedon; Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Davies; Torchwood. Plus, they redid the Owen plotline except I liked the WH13 version better.
So to that end, it feels kind of full circle or maybe an Ouroboros?
Of course, if Agents of SHIELD has any cameos from The X-Files, then my mind will be completely blown.
