Okay, all from Entertainment Weekly...woah, I just realized it's been twenty years since I first found an issue at our local laundromat. Is it wrong to be happy our dryer stopped working at that particular time? I am though because that magazine has almost never failed to be awesome.

“In any of these [episodes], you can always ask: ‘Why don’t they just call Iron Man?’” Yeah, that would be annoying! So our next question is: Why don’t they just call Iron Man? “They are aware of each other,” Whedon says of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team and the metal-suited Malibu playboy, “but they do have to have their own lives.”

Cobie Smulders is going to be on SHIELD!!!!!
http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/07/19/cobie-smulders-shield/

“I wanted very much to have Cobie in the pilot because as much as anyone else, she IS SHIELD,” says the pilot’s writer-director Joss Whedon in a statement to EW. “She’s cool and commanding, and has the dry humor that plays so well with Clark’s. Also, if she’s in it I get to hang out with Cobie.”

So, I totally forgot that the panel was today from 1:45-3 PM EST so I...slept through it. Luckily, Entertainment Weekly, Tumblr and the internet will bring me up to speed!

Best quote: “I have that feeling that I haven’t had in a long time. … I guess I’m a little excited,” said Whedon. Honorable mention: “I really didn’t like being dead.” — Gregg.

They showed the PILOT!!!!!

The character believes he was only dead for eight seconds or so after Loki shot him in The Avengers then spent time recovering in Tahiti. But we’re told by his colleagues, “He really doesn’t know does he?” and “He can never know.”

Ugh, now I want to know more than ever! He's not a LMD, right?

We'll discuss the Peggy one-shot more in another post but I do love the idea of these one-shots and SHIELD going into more of the "minor" characters. I'd love for Loki to show up in either. I'd really love for SHIELD to do the Tess Black story and how awkward everyone would be about having to work together but...MCU Loki doesn't seem to have human children at this time. Deadpool was ruled out for the time being today but what about Frank Castle? "Dirty Laundry" was just so awesome and it was just Thomas Jane's FANVID!

Also, Kate Bishop NEEDS to happen sometime, somewhere, but she NEEDS to appear.

I know, I know, Marvel is Marvel and Fantastic Four is Fox and neither the Twain shall meet for now BUT...
I think Diesel could make an awesome Ben Grimm.

Cobie Smulders!!! I was so sad when HIMYM got renewed because I wanted her to be on SHIELD so bad. Also that show hardly ever makes me laugh anymore. :(

I don't want it to be an LMD... I feel like that cheapens the impact of what he did. But then, I don't really know how those work, I have only encountered them in the comics in passing as of yet.

I need to read something with Kate Bishop in it. The internets inform me she is awesome. :D

This season was worth it alone for The Final Page which is actually one of my favorite episodes ever...and yes, I was a total Oz/Willow shipper but I also loved the proposal. However, yes, some of the episodes end up being more of a chore that I need to get through although I do love the game I play with my mom.

My Mom: Have they shown Marvin lately?
Me: Nope.
(Long scene with Marvin)
Me: Yeah, you just missed him.

I think she saw him like...Twice? this whole season.

I'm torn about it because I can see all the drama and tension and woobieness that they would get from Coulson realizing he wasn't real but then...that would totally break my heart not to have him human anymore. Then again, this is very different from Vision and such where he would be a robot who absolutely thinks he's human in every way. Plus, being a robot didn't stop Vision from marrying Wanda and having children.

So, I'm torn about it but I hope there's more to it, like alien tech or something. However, we know something must be up if he's been sequestered away from Tony for so long...because Tony would smell a rat immediately and want to know exactly what happened.

Dammit Joss, you do this to me every time!

In a good way, but dammit, that man and his family...they're so freaking good at what they do.

Yes, yes, you do and I'm not sure where to have you start. There's Young Avengers which has bonus Loki as a teenage boy who's struggling with being good when everyone expects him to be bad...made worse by a body possession thing. Miss America who is also awesome and the relationship between Teddy and Billy who are totally cute and adorable and engaged.

But there's also Hawkeye which is superior in art and style because it has less characters and less involved stories to deal with. Kate and Clint have to deal with each other but they actually make a great team and there's an adorable one-eyed dog whose real name was Arrow but Clint named Lucky and most call Pizza Dog including Clint and Kate sometimes.

Maybe you could check both Tags on Tumblr and see which one strikes your fancy more?

I did like The Final Page too... (I shipped Oz/Willow too! So cute.) Barney/Robin makes me happy because the combined total of their awesomeness is just amazing. I think mainly it frustrates me that so often the characters are written like caricatures of themselves now. And LOL Marvin... I feel like they forget Lily and Marshall have a kid until it's convenient. *g*

Yeah, being a robot doesn't seem to be much of a barrier in comics! And you are definitely right about the woobie potential, but I think it would make me super sad if he wasn't human. But you know, I feel like whatever they do, they'll do a good job with it, I have such a good feeling about this show.

Checking on Tumblr seems like a good idea... I've heard good things about both series. Mostly my problem is TOO MANY THINGS TO READ, hahaha.

I agree about so many good things to read BUT I do make Hawkeye and Young Avengers a priority. In fact, I even buy the collected issues/graphic novels for Hawkeye as soon as they're available and I'm tempted to start doing that with Young Avengers but their first graphic novel isn't released until September.
